Troy Christian Schools closing & delay information
Troy Christian Schools are closed only when it is specifically announced. If Troy City closes, that does not mean that we are closed. If students ride a bus from West Milton or Vandalia and either of those districts are on a delay or closed, and we are not, those students are also on a delay or receive an excused absence. Students who drive or ride to school are subject to the district in which they reside. Students are responsible for getting any assignments they miss due to the delay or closing. We will use the One Call Now system to notify you of any delays or closings. The system begins calling at 6:30 AM in these instances since our bus routes begin shortly after this time. You do not have to call the school unless specifically instructed by the message. As always, you can tune in to television, WHIO or WDTN, or look on our website at the orange alert box in the upper right corner of the main box on our homepage.
childcare
• Always open, unless otherwise noted, or level 3 emergency
Preschool
• 1 & 2 Hour Delay • All Preschool & Pre-K classes begin and end at their regular scheduled time. • Students may attend classes at the discretion of their parents. Some students may be joining classes at 10:30 if a sibling is in K-12 grades. • K - 12 Closed • All classes, except childcare (unless there is a level 3 emergency), are cancelled. • There are no make-up days for preschool or childcare classes.
K-12
• 1 & 2 Hour Delay • All bus routes and the school day will run 1 or 2 hours from their normal times based on which delay is called. See attached page for jr. and high school bell schedules. • Example: Elementary school normally starts at 8:30 AM, on a 1 hour delay it will start at 9:30 AM, and on a 2 hour delay it will start at 10:30 AM. • Half-day kindergarten - On any delay days, the half day kindergartners should arrive at the delay time and, if possible, stay until the 3 PM dismissal. They would need to bring their lunches that day or money to buy a lunch. If it is impossible to arrange for them to stay, please notify the office that you still will be picking them up at their regular time of noon. Those students leaving at noon may have some work to make up as the kindergarten teachers will be using the full day to cover their academics. • K - 12 Closed • All classes are cancelled
Athletics
• Early Dismissal, 1 & 2 Hour Delay, or School Closed • Please wait to hear from the Athletic Department before contacting the school, as an announcement will be made.
