The AlertSF message was created in error during a system test. For further information on tsunamis visit NOAA’s National Weather Service website http://ptwc.weather.gov/ AlertSF is the City and County of San Francisco’s emergency alert system that provides immediate updates on potential life-safety situations. Occasionally the system will be tested for safety issues. You can sign up for these alerts by texting “alertsf” to 888-777. We are reviewing the error in order to make a recommendation on how to prevent this type of incident from occurring again. We apologize for any concern or inconvenience this may have caused.
