Department of Revenue makes online credit/debit card payments more convenient ST. PAUL, Minn. – On July 1, the Minnesota Department of Revenue announced a new service provider that makes it easier for taxpayers to submit payments with credit or debit cards. Value Payment Systems, a third party vendor, will handle these payments through a new website – www.payMNtax.com. Paying online by credit or debit card is faster, safer and more convenient than paying by paper checks. “This change is part of the department’s effort to make it easier for Minnesota taxpayers to voluntarily comply and pay their taxes,” said Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans. “We have been testing the new vendor for over a month. We are confident that Minnesota taxpayers will find it convenient and simple to use.” The new system features a digital time stamp to guarantee that taxpayers have accurate records of their transactions. The website also offers an email reminder option to schedule future reminders for upcoming tax payments. It will eventually offer scheduling estimate payments in advance, to ensure that taxpayers never miss their payments. There is a small convenience fee for the service, but it is less than the fee charged by the previous vendor. The Department of Revenue offers a variety of ways for taxpayers to pay electronically:  Pay online with payment withdrawn from your bank account through our e-Services system (free): o Visit e-Services online at https://www.mndor.state.mn.us/tp/payments/_/#1  Pay by credit card (fees apply): www.payMNtax.com  Pay by debit card (fees apply): www.payMNtax.com  Pay by phone with payment withdrawn from your bank account through our e-Services system (free): 1-800-570-3329 Follow the latest news and updates from the Minnesota Department of Revenue on Twitter. ###
