MEDAL COUNT (No. 16) – Spendthrift Farm’s Medal Count, runner-up in the Blue Grass (GI) last out, galloped after the renovation break under exercise rider Faustino Aguilar for trainer Dale Romans.

IN TUNE (tie-No. 4)/MY MISS SOPHIA (tie-No. 4)/GOT LUCKY (No. 8) – Mathis Stable’s My Miss Sophia and Hill ‘n’ Dale Equine Holdings and Philip Steinberg’s Got Lucky galloped after the morning renovation break for trainer Todd Pletcher. Amy Mulen was aboard Got Lucky, while Humberto Zamora partnered My Miss Sophia. Wertheimer and Frere’s In Tune was scheduled to arrive at the Pletcher barn early Tuesday afternoon after a flight from South Florida.

CANDY BOY (No. 17) – C R K Stable’s Robert B. Lewis (GII) winner Candy Boy walked the shedrow at Barn 43 on his first full day at Churchill Downs for trainer John Sadler. Candy Boy arrived at Churchill Downs at 3:30 Monday afternoon from his base in Southern California. Cesar Aguilar, assistant to Sadler, said Candy Boy would go to the track Wednesday. COMMANDING CURVE (No. 21) – West Point Thoroughbreds’ Commanding Curve, third in the Louisiana Derby (GII) in his most recent start, galloped after the renovation break under exercise rider Emerson Chavez for trainer Dallas Stewart. Commanding Curve stands 21st on the “Road to the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard Presented by TwinSpires.com.” “We’re still just waiting,” Stewart said, “that’s all you can do. I think he’s right on par with (2013 Kentucky Derby runner-up) Golden Soul last year. I think he’s every bit as good and he’s been handling this track really well.” PABLO DEL MONTE (No. 22) – Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith, Michael Tabor and Wesley Ward’s Pablo Del Monte, third in the Blue Grass Stakes last out, is scheduled to work Saturday or Sunday at Keeneland, according to Ward, who is also the colt’s trainer. BIG BAZINGA (No. 25) – Derby Dreamers Racing Stable’s Big Bazinga galloped 1 ½ miles under Loren Diego after the morning renovation break. Big Bazinga arrived at Churchill Downs Monday afternoon from Keeneland where he had remained since a fourth-place finish in the Blue Grass Stakes (GI). Big Bazinga is trained by Katerina Vassilieva. According to Frank Bernis, agent for jockey Brian Hernandez Jr., the colt is scheduled to work Saturday with Hernandez up. Hernandez rode the colt in the Blue Grass.

LONGINES KENTUCKY OAKS UPDATE UNTAPABLE (No. 1)/EUPHROSYNE – Winchell Thoroughbreds’ Untapable, winner of the Fair Grounds Oaks (GII) and Silverbulletday (GIII) at Fair Grounds, returned to the track on Tuesday and galloped 1 1/8 miles over a fast surface under exercise rider Angel Garcia. The Steve Asmussen-trained daughter of Tapit worked five furlongs on Sunday under jockey Rosie Napravnik, who will ride Untapable in the Longines Kentucky Oaks. She walked under Asmussen’s shedrow on Monday. Meanwhile, Asmussen confirmed that Gillian S. Campbell, Ralph Staver, Shelly Staver, Dan Clark and Greg Skoda’s Euphrosyne would not be entered in the Kentucky Oaks. Asmussen said the daughter of Harlan’s Holiday would be pointed to the Black-Eyed Susan (GII) at Pimlico on Friday, May 16. Euphrosyne was declared the winner of the Honeybee (GIII) at Oaklawn Park on March 8 via the disqualification of Kentucky Oaks contender Sugar Shock. She finished third to that rival in her most recent start in the Fantasy (GIII) at Oaklawn Park. SUGAR SHOCK (No. 2) – On Cloud Nine LLC’s Sugar Shock galloped 1 ½ miles after the morning renovation break with exercise rider Seth VanDyke up for trainer Doug Anderson.

ROSALIND (No. 6) – Landaluce Educe Stables’ Rosalind, deadheat winner of the Ashland (GI) at Keeneland in her most recent start, arrived at Churchill Downs in good form Monday and galloped after the renovation break with exercise rider Danny Ramsey Tuesday morning for trainer Kenny McPeek. ROOM SERVICE (No. 7)/AURELIA’S BELLE (No. 9) – Trainer Wayne Catalano liked the looks Tuesday morning of his two Kentucky Oaks hopefuls, Room Service and Aurelia’s Belle. “They both went around twice and two-minute licked the last mile,” Catalano said. Exercise rider Calamity Compton was aboard both fillies. Aurelia’s Belle, owned by James Miller, won the Bourbonette Oaks (GIII) in her most recent start. Gary and Mary West’s Room Service was a dead-heat winner in the Ashland (GI). “They are going to work Thursday and then we will make a decision on Room Service,” Catalano said of the filly who never has raced on dirt. “She seems to be handling this fine and she did well on the dirt at Gulfstream.” ROAD TO THE KENTUCKY OAKS LEADERBOARD # 1. 2. 3.

Kentucky Derby/Kentucky Oaks Update Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Page 3 of 5 RIA ANTONIA (No. 10) – Christopher Dunn and Loooch Racing Stable’s Ria Antonia galloped 1 ½ miles under exercise rider Jorge Alvarez after the renovation break Tuesday morning. Tuesday’s exercise was the first at the track for the Bob Baffert trainee who arrived at Churchill Downs Monday afternoon from her base in Southern California. KISS MOON (No. 11) – Carl Pollard’s Kiss Moon exited a fiveeighths work of Monday in good order and walked the shedrow Tuesday morning according to Trisha Vance, assistant to her father David Vance. FIFTYSHADESOFGOLD (No. 12) – The Estate of Clarence Scharbauer Jr.’s Fiftyshadesofgold galloped before the morning renovation break under exercise rider Sara Escudero. Trained by Bret Calhoun, Fiftyshadesofgold also has the $175,000-added Eight Belles (GIII) to be run May 2 as a possible target. “We haven’t named a rider because we are waiting to see if she goes in the Oaks or the Eight Belles,” said Tom Morgan, assistant to Calhoun. Fiftyshadesofgold is scheduled to work Friday. UNBRIDLED FOREVER (No. 13) – Charles Fipke’s Unbridled Forever, galloped after the renovation break under exercise rider Pedro Velez for trainer Dallas Stewart. SWEET REASON (No. 14) – With the withdrawal of Euphrosyne from Kentucky Oaks (GI) consideration, Treadway Racing Stable’s Sweet Reason moved to No. 14 on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard and a spot in the May 2 starting gate. “I am going to discuss it with the owners,” trainer Leah Gyarmati said of the filly who is at Belmont Park. “We will see how she’s doing and what her options are.” Sweet Reason finished third behind Oaks candidates My Miss Sophia and Got Lucky in the Gazelle (GII) in her most recent start April 5. She has had one work since that race, a three-furlong breeze on April 18. “She may better going one turn and there are races like the Acorn (GI) and Test (GI) coming up,” Gyarmati said. “She has had excuses every time she has gone two turns. “There was no pace in the last race and in the Breeders’ Cup, she was too far back early and moved too soon and flattened out. If you are finding too many excuses for races, maybe you are not running in the right spots. “I think (the Oaks) is a better setup and there should be no pace issues there.”

SHE’S A TIGER – Eclipse Award winner She’s a Tiger jogged on the main track here Tuesday morning after the renovation break under Antonio Gutierrez for trainer Jeff Bonde. The filly is being pointed to the May 2 Eight Belles (GIII). “That has been the plan all along to run in the Eight Belles and then the Acorn (GI),” Bonde said. “She has not run for five months and I have no interest in running a mile and an eighth first out.”
