Digital Content Officer

The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. We are currently looking for a Digital Content Officer for the Commercial department, based at our headquarters in Dubai, UAE. The role will work closely with the Digital Content Manager and Digital Product Manager with the responsibility of day-to-day upkeep of the ICC’s digital properties including websites, apps and social media accounts. The role includes working with various content vendors, assisting in creating, editing, delivering and displaying content in line with the overall ICC digital strategy to help bring these channels to life throughout the year. Principal Accountabilities Responsibilities of the Digital Content Officer include but are not limited to the following: 

Day-to-day editorial maintenance of the ICC’s digital platforms, ensuring the delivery of fresh and compelling content (both from internal and external sources);



Ensure website is fresh, engaging and up to date throughout each day, taking into account the accuracy, relevancy and how information is visually presented;



Proactive suggestion of stories and working with editorial partner(s) to have them drafted and published;



Continual optimisation of content including maintaining SEO practices, adding multimedia and embedding links;



Creation of periodic analytics and social media reporting, using these measurable insights to help guide overall content strategy;



Working closely with the Marketing, Broadcast and Media & Communications teams to ensure appropriate messaging is integrated within the ICC’s digital communications;



Attendance at weekly meetings to help set and execute the organisation’s editorial agenda;



Assisting the Digital Content Manager with:





Executing the ICC content strategy in line with commercial, communications, marketing and development requirements;



Managing key content vendor relationships; and



Creating digital content plans, including event specific content plans.

Assisting the Digital Product Manager with: 

Providing ongoing analytics and insight updates on performance of ICC digital channels against set KPI’s;



Shaping digital product strategy based on audience insight and emerging trends; and



Ad-hoc maintenance and monitoring of performance of ICC’s digital products.

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience 

        

A minimum of three years’ experience working in a sports editorial and/or content campaign management environment; Understanding of cricket and the unique nature of sport is a must; Strong and diverse writing style covering factual reporting, opinion, human interest and features is a distinct advantage; High degree of initiative and sound editorial judgement is essential; Strong time management and prioritisation skills; Demonstrable ability to work on, and deliver, multiple content pieces at the same time; Previous experience of integrating messaging and brands into digital content; Meticulous and accurate with a strong eye for detail; Thorough understanding and knowledge of various social media platforms; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication is essential; Experience in working on different Content Management Systems; Some understating of digital product development in terms of APIs, design, and UI/UX is desirable;



Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;



A good team player with a flexible approach who is motivated with an enthusiastic attitude;



A thorough understanding and knowledge of the various social media platforms and previous experience inuse of social media channels to run content campaigns; Previous experience of generating, presenting and using analytics to guide content strategy; Previous experience with basic multimedia creation and editing (videos, podcasts etc.) is an advantage;

 

 

Conditions of employment 

The position is based in Dubai and will report to the Digital Content Manager;



The role on occasion will require work extended beyond office working hours, particularly in tournament time when the successful candidate will be required to travel internationally occasionally to cover live events;



The selected candidate will be required to provide two recent work references; and



Compensation offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
