Welcome to our Summer season! I am delighted to welcome a number of globally acclaimed music artists this season. One of music’s true legends, VAN MORRISON, returns in May for two dates as festival headliner at the City of Derry Jazz Festival. It is ten years since Country music icon KRIS KRISTOFFERSON performed at our venue. He makes a very welcome return in June. There is more to enjoy as part of the Jazz Festival with renowned Irish artist and her legendary band, MARY BLACK, in May. One of Ireland’s greatest jazz and blues singers, MARY COUGHLAN, joins us in the same month while Grammy-award winning legend DON MCLEAN, takes to our stage this season. I am excited about the impending arrival of multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, storyteller and actor FINBAR FUREY to the Forum in June for one night only. His long career has also included a singing role in Martin Scorsese’s film ‘Gangs of New York’. There is much for our family market this season with, firstly, our in-house theatre group for adults with learning difficulties, Stage Beyond, and their stage production of Jonathan Swift’s GULLIVER’S TRAVELS. The Grove Theatre brings us GREASE in June while Kaleidescope stages MY FAIR LADY in the same month.

Younger children will be delighted to see CBB’s BING LIVE in July as well as all the MILKSHAKE! favourites such as Bob The Builder, Little Princess, Shimmer and Shine and their friends in August. Foyle Opera brings their now yearly production to our venue with Franz Lehár’s comedic operetta, THE MERRY WIDOW this season. Classical Music Magazine has hailed APOLLO’S FIRE as ’the USA’s hottest baroque band’; I am delighted to welcome them to their first visit to the Millennium Forum. This season sees the pinnacle of our yearly offering for our youth market with our youth musical CATS in July and our INTERACT festival for young people aged 12-21. If you are a young person or know a young person who would like to get involved, please contact us. I hope you can join us in our new season! You can view our full programme at millenniumforum.co.uk Thanks to all our patrons and sponsors for their continued support and encouragement. AAA is an exciting new charity, developed by the Millennium Forum working towards equal access to theatre for all. Through fundraising and liaising with customer groups who are affected by physical, sensory and cognitive disabilities, we hope that small changes will make big differences to the experiences of our audiences.

Mary Coughlan Mary Coughlan is arguably one of Ireland’s greatest jazz and blues singers; a true artist who has carved out a timeless and highly regarded career and a legion of devoted fans worldwide. Her seminal first album, “Tired and Emotional”, rocketed her to overnight fame in 1985 and, fifteen albums later, her ability to deeply connect with both the song and her audience remains undiminished - a testament to her inner strength and to the power of transformation and redemption.
