The course builds on the introductory Importing and Exporting for Small Business course. It is not essential however to have attended that course. Each attendee will use an individual desktop computer to gain experience in exploring a range of Internet sources to identify potential suppliers across different industry sectors, to find relevant international trade shows, and to look at the support services of local professional service providers. Trading and payment practices are discussed. Government regulatory requirements are identified and attendees will have the opportunity of researching online in class for the requirements for their particular products of interest. Maximum benefit of the course will be gained if attendees have given prior thought to the types of products they are considering importing. While basic computer skills are assumed, every attendee will receive tutor assistance in class in accessing websites and with individual questions. Geoff Upton FAIx
