The Co-op has commissioned celebrated local artist Marnie Wark to design and paint a mural on the Murray Street frontage of the new Co-op Fresh Foodland Supermarket.

Inspired by the Murray St Mural, we’re calling secondary school students to create an A3 sized piece of public art to be displayed at The Co-op.

Win a $200 Co-op gift card plus the opportunity to paint with Marnie Wark as she works on the Murray St Mural. The winning artwork will also be applied to a fabric shopping bag, available from The Co-op.

OPEN TO ALL LOCAL YEAR 9-12 STUDENTS

JUDGING BY LOCAL ARTIST MARNIE WARK

Entries close 5pm, Friday September 22nd 2017. All entries will be displayed at The Co-op Shopping Centre.

Entries will be judged by Marnie on their artistic merit, consideration for the surrounding environment and the context for this piece of public art.

A RT CO M PETITI O N ENTRY INFORMATION: • Competition is open to local secondary school students in Years 9-12. • Entries must be submitted on an A3 piece of paper. • Entries must contain the following information on the REVERSE of the A3 piece of paper: - SCHOOL NAME

- STUDENT’S YEAR LEVEL

- STUDENT’S NAME

- STUDENT’S/PARENT’S CO-OP MEMBER NUMBER

- STUDENT’S EMAIL

- ART/DESIGN TEACHER’S NAME

- STUDENT’S PHONE NUMBER

- ART/DESIGN TEACHER’S EMAIL

• Entries may be laminated and displayed in The Co-op Shopping Centre prior to and/or after judging. • Parental permission will be required for entrants under 18 years of age, to participate in painting the Murray Street Mural. • Entries will not be used in the design or production of the Murray Street Mural. • Painting of the Murray St Mural will take place in October and November 2017. • The owner of the winning entry will be required to enter into a licence agreement with The Co-op for use of the winning design. • The winning design will be printed on a fabric shopping bag with printing size approximately 200mm x 200mm.

IMPORTANT DATES & DELIVERY: ENTRIES OPEN: FRIDAY 8 TH SEPTEMBER 2017 ENTRIES CLOSE: 5PM FRIDAY 22 ND SEPTEMBER 2017 Delivery: Entries must be submitted in person to The Co-op Admin Office, 3 Murray St Nurioopta. Winner announced: Wednesday 27 th September 2017 Painting of the Marnie Wark designed Murray St Mural commences: Monday 16 th October 2017
