At Sawtry Village Academy, Fen Lane, Sawtry, Huntingdon, PE285TQ Attendees are invited to attend all day, or morning or afternoon only. If you are attending all day a buffet lunch will be provided.

Morning (9:30 – 12:45) • • • •

Registration & coffee Welcome and house keeping Membership Systems Update Section Training (or First Response – all day session)

Section training This session is for new and experienced leaders, unit helpers and Young Leaders to explore ideas to help us deliver exciting and varied programmes. The training will include using good guiding in the unit, girl led decision making, and planning for adventure. • •

Lunch & Marketplace (12:45-1:45) Visit the market place and meet the advisors. Stalls to include: • • • • • • • • •

International Peer Education Outdoor Activities Section Advisors Archivist Queens Guide/Duke of Edinburgh Award Awards Membership systems (Go/Join Us) – drop in session, bring along issues you need help with A shop and badges will also be available

Afternoon (1:45-4:15) New programme ideas Training Session (A variety of cross section sessions to help enhance your unit meetings, see options below)

(A)Being our best – going out and about What to take your unit out - explore places to go across, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and our neighbouring counties, try activities to help you decide where to go and how to plan your visit. (B)Social media and staying safe on line A session to explore how to use Social media and activities to encourage staying safe online. (C)Manging Difficult Behaviour A session to explore Managing Difficult behaviour covering • Understanding how conflict arises in people and situations • Strategies for finding out what’s behind the conflict • Presenting your response effectively Dealing with your own resilience (D)Acting and improvisation A fun session full of ideas for acting, drama and improvisation activities that leaders can take back and use within their units. (E)Moving on and growing A session on encouraging growth, retention and transition to the next section. (F)Young leaders and their leaders Do you have a Young Leader in your Unit and you need some help on what to do? The aim of this session is to help you define the role for the Young Leader, how they fit into the leadership team, find out what help and support is available to you both and the qualifications that a Young Leader can take. (G)Games for all sections An interactive and fun session full of ideas for games that leaders can take back and use with in their units. (H)Music for all sections An interactive and fun session full of ideas for musical games and activities and a few songs that leaders can take back and use with in their units. (I)1st Response refresher This will be a refresher course for leaders who have already completed their First Response training and need their 3 year renewal. (Please note there is a £12.50 charge for this course) •

Please complete all sections of this form and send along with a £5 (£17.50 for the 1st response full course or £12.50 for the 1 st response refresher course) cheque payable to Cambridgeshire West Guides to the County Office, Huntingdon Business Centre,16 Blackstone Road, Huntingdon, PE29 6EF no later than 22nd February 2017. Bookings will not be accepted without payment. Late applications are unlikely to be accepted.
