OUR HISTORY Formed in 1925, Evans originally manufactured cow standings and water troughs for agriculture. As the business expanded, the company became nationally recognised for the production of high quality exposed aggregate, reconstructed stone and structural precast products.

This range is used for approximately 80% of the projects we undertake. However, where a non-standard colour and finish is required, we will source an appropriate aggregate and produce special mixes and finishes that compliment the project.

The Evans sample range provides a summary of the main architectural mixes used in production. All samples show an acid etched finish to three different levels light, medium and heavy etch. These mixes incorporate aggregates such as limestone, granite, basalt and Spanish dolomite and are compounds we have historical performance data for mix designs, product data sheets and concrete cube strength tests.

Since joining Shay Murtagh Group Darren has progressed to a Senior Estimator position. Meeting with clients both in Ireland and UK, Darren is a vital link between our companies in Ireland and the UK.

Aaron started working at Evans in March 2010. He originally started out as a Joiner and progressed to his current position as Production Manager. Aaron oversees every operation on site and manages the day to day running, from production to employees, and general site requirements.
Steve worked in precast concrete since leaving college in 1993, and for eleven years was CAD draughtsman. After joining Evans in 2004 he gained valuable experience in contracts management, planning, production and quality control. He works closely with all departments/ clients/ professional bodies to ensure our products meet the required specification and architectural requirements by developing project specific inspection & test plans and maintaining control of all production operations.
Natalie is Production Planner at Evans. Once awarded a new contract, Natalie starts the production planning process. Working closely with the design department in order to start the moulds and timetable schedule Natalie assembles a casting programme to meet the requirements of the Client. Natalie works closely with the production team, making sure we meet the targets set and the work load is managed.
Fergal is the Production Manager with Shay Murtagh Group and has worked in the industry for over thirteen years. He graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology with a degree in Construction Management and a postgraduate diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin. He has worked on numerous major civil engineering and construction projects in Ireland, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. He works closely with the Production Team on our large scale projects.

José is a Senior Civil Engineer at Shay Murtagh Group with 18 years experience in the industry. He is highly involved in the innovation of new products as well as design and production. José graduated as a Civil Engineer from Porto University. He has since focused on the industrial construction sector where he has gained experience with Grupo Castelo, one of the most important companies in the Iberian Peninsula that specialise in industrial and commercial buildings, petrochemical industries, concrete floating pontoons and breakwaters
Fátima is an Engineer at Shay Murtagh Group and joined the team in 2017. Fátima has a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Technology and Management School of the Viana do Castelo Polytechnic Institute in Portugal. In her role as Civil Engineer, she is responsible for the planning, designing and supervising projects, ensuring it’s completed comprehensively, efficiently and on schedule. Fatima also liaises with clients, provides solutions for any arising issues and produces reports.
Tânia Rocha is a Civil Engineer at Shay Murtagh Group. With a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Minho University, Tânia started work in design, developing her competencies in bridges. For three years she was involved in the development of form travellers, a mechanism used to pour deck bridges. The last project that Tania was involved in was in Columbia where she developed 10 metres long segments. Tânia has experience in steel structures, production management and three-dimensional software.

HEALTH & SAFETY Health & Safety is imperative to Shay Murtagh Group. Continuous training of staff to keep awareness of their surroundings, their colleagues, the public and their actions is part of management philosophy. Specific training such as Confined Space Training for installation crews to general training such as Manual Handling Training for every member of staff is organised and attended as required.

There is a qualified Health & Safety Officer on site who carries out continuous assessment of the related needs of the company and staff. The Safety Committee meets quarterly or as required to discuss upcoming projects, changes to existing procedures and any other safety related issues. This Committee comprises of representatives of Management and Staff throughout all departments. Shay Murtagh Group are certified and audited annually for the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management accreditation.
