BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF UTAH COUNTY-SPECIALTY CAMPS Looking for exciting camps for special interests like dance or sports? Check out the Club’s array of summer Specialty Camps! ART EXPLORERS CAMP Explore art through different mediums in this hands-on camp! Watercolor, drawing, and mixed media…Students will experiment with different mediums to create their own masterpieces. Don’t be afraid to get messy! All art materials are provided. Hours: M/W 9:00-10:00, 3-4 grades 10:00-11:00, 5-6 grades 11:00-12:00, K-2 grades Session 1: Watercolor Session 2: Drawing Session 3: Mixed Media

SPORTS CAMP

Club members will learn to explore stories through contemporary dance, rhythm and beat to pop and lock in hip hop, and go on an adventure of cultures for folk dance. Discover how to use your body’s movement to share a story. The overall structure of a professional dance class will be taught while learning a choreographed dance which members will perform at the end of each session.

Choose a sports camp with the ultimate combination of athletics and fun with the Biggest Little Soccer, Basketball and/or Flag Football experience. By offering a perfect mix of play, drill work, strategy and teamwork, members will create memories to last a lifetime at this sports camp! Must wear tennis shoes, sunscreen and bring a water bottle.

Come learn how to turn your ideas into reality. Learn to create marketing materials, calculate costs, and operate your small business during a children's entrepreneurship fair. Education and the free market will come to life as you gain a real world experience as a young Startup Academy entrepreneur. Ages: 4-6 grades Hours: T/TH 10:00-11:00 Fee: $20

BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR-

ART EXPLORERS CAMP-Shaylee Baird Shaylee is a senior at Utah Valley University and will graduate with a degree in art education. She is trained in drawing, painting (watercolor, acrylic, and oil), photography, graphic design, 2D design, ceramics and sculpture. She has a passion for art and teaching and is excited to share her passion with you. DANCE CAMP-Emily Bayles Emily grew up dancing in Mesa, Arizona and later performed with BYU's Contemporary Dance Theatre, Dance Ensemble, Hip Hop Club, and Folk Dance team. She graduated from BYU with a BA in Dance Education and a minor in Business Management. She has taught dance for pre-K, elementary and middle school students. She taught tumbling, tap, ballet, and jazz at a studio in Orem called Dansation. One of Emily's favorite memories is attending a China Dance Study Abroad, where she observed different teachers at Minzu University. She is so excited to share her love of creating and relishing in the joys of movement! STEM CAMP-Alex Gale Alex Gale recently graduated from BYU with a BS in Statistics and a minor in Mathematics. She has been a STEM specialist with Boys & Girls Club of Utah County for over a year, and has loved every second of it! She loves helping kids connect STEM concepts with the things they love.

Travis Lish graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Organizational Psychology and from BYU with a Masters in Public Administration. While working toward his masters, he was involved with different organizations that carried out socially innovative projects. Since graduating from BYU, Travis joined The Startup Academy and has worked to bring applied learning and entrepreneurial experiences to kids and teenagers. He looks forward to developing the many ideas that kids have and fostering their knowledge in business. SPORTS CAMP-Melia Dayley From a young age, Melia could be found playing sports from ice skating and softball to soccer and basketball. In high school Melia ran track and played soccer and basketball. She went on to play soccer at a junior college in Wyoming where she started every game and was team captain. During summer months, she coached youth soccer teams. Melia is a soccer and basketball referee at BYU. She gets to be part of sports even when she's working. Melia is excited to coach this summer and help kids gain confidence in themselves and their abilities while having a blast with their friends.
