The great thing about living in East Glasgow is that nature is around every corner. There are acres of parks, canals, riversides and woodlands right on your doorstep. Use this leaflet to help you explore local paths and places. Your local green place is perfect for enjoying the outdoors and keeping you happy and healthy. The sky makes the view from the top different almost every day. Try a minibeast hunt. Look under tree leaves and logs and in dark damp places.

Have you seen both the fountains?

Spot the difference between a moorhen (red and yellow beak) and coot (white beak).

How many ducks can you count on the pond?

At dusk watch bats catching insects from the surface of the river.

Watch the rowers on the river. Can you see any spiders on the railings? What are they up to?

Get some fresh air in your lungs - This is a great place to let off steam! Stroll under the trees. There’s blossom on them in the spring and berries in the autumn.

Listen to birds singing in the trees – can you spot one?

This park is a hidden gem come and explore! Look at ripples and reflections in the water under the bridges. Bring a boat to sail on the pond – the model boat club meets regularly every week.

Look out for butterflies in summer.

Look for toadstools in the grass.
