Why do some people develop resistance to cancer drugs? Researchers are on a quest to develop targeted cancer treatments. This is difficult because of how complex tumors are. Learn about current efforts to understand the molecules that cause cancer and how this knowledge could be used to develop “smarter” therapies. We will also discuss how clinical trials are an important part of advancing work in our field.

SPEAKER | DR. ALAN LOMBARD

Dr. Lombard is a Postdoctoral Molecular Oncologist in the Urology Department at UC Davis. His research interests include understanding cancer treatment resistance and the development of new therapeutic strategies for prostate cancer.
