Creativity Month in Colin

March 2015

Creative events for everyone in Colin Music, crafts, art, film, dance, storytelling, family trips, history, culture

Welcome to Creativity Month in Colin Creativity Month in Colin during March 2015 will bring local people together in many ways and celebrate community participation. Creativity Month throughout the North is also an opportunity to showcase novel ideas and approaches to tackling challenges facing this part of Ireland. Creativity can involve artistic expression or nurturing untapped talents. It can also be about adopting a different way of thinking about problems and imagining solutions to a range of issues. Creativity is often about connecting things not previously connected – connecting people, ideas, organisations and communities. We need to be creative in tackling entrenched challenges across education, social inclusion, and health & well-being. We need to be creative in finding new ways to reach out to people, to build united communities and to inspire hope in the possibilities of the future. Colin Neighbourhood Partnership continues to be creative in connecting people together to make a difference. Culture, Arts and Leisure activities have a key role to play. By imagining a new Colin, the local community is empowering itself through its vision of a vibrant, successful and proud place. I urge people of all ages in Colin to be creative and continue to work together to imagine and realise the full possibilities of what Colin can be. Carál Ní Chuilín MLA Minister of Culture, Arts and Leisure Don’t forget that you can get free tickets to arts and cultural activities by visiting the Test Drive the Arts kiosk in the Colin Community Hub. Please note that photographs will be taken at these events. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Details correct at time of going to press.
