DAILY AFFIRMATIONS & MINDSET WORKSHEET

Developing your daily mindset routine Leaning the fuck out takes a shift in mindset from the daily grind to purposeful entrepreneurship. When you are at your day job, your focus and accountability are set by your team and supervisor. But once you’ve made a break for it, you have to set all your own goals, hold yourself accountable, and make all the business decisions. Similarly, leaning the fuck out often calls for a shift in how you understand yourself and interact with your family, friends, and peers. Both of these changes require a shift in mindset to a focus on your emotional intelligence, growth, purpose, and personal accountability. In order to get into the right mindset, we recommend setting up a daily system—one that creates discipline and accountability, and encourages growth and action. Along with finding accountability and support partners to help you stay on track. leanthef-ckout.com

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO SHIFT YOUR ENERGY TOWARD THE VISION YOU SEE FOR YOURSELF. GETTING IN THE RIGHT MINDSET IS THE FIRST STEP.

In order to set your daily mindset routine, you need to first set your mindset in the right direction for your goals. Here are some questions for you to respond to, to help you redirect your mindset: • Think about yourself at retirement. Imagine you are at a party celebrating you as a success. What success are you celebrating? What have you done to get where you are? What are you wearing? Who are you with? Who helped you get there? Take a moment to visualize your success and write it down. • What means most to you in your life? (family security, retirement, not working for the proverbial man, spirituality, owning your own home, travel, etc.) • How would or is leaning out improving your quality of life? • What do you like most about your work style and work habits? • What are your personal values? • What are you going to need to affirm along the way, especially when “I can’t do this.” pops into your head? • How can I ensure I’m embracing all challenges with an “I am badass business woman” attitude? • If I get hit with a setback, how will I process it? • How will I ensure I’m working daily towards my goal? • How will I learn new things along the way? • Think about the times when you will get criticized for your new life. How will you handle the criticism? How will you learn from it? • How can I learn from the successes and inspiration of others?

Write a statement here to come back to. Answer the question:

WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS TOUGH, I MUST REMEMBER …” Finally, make yourself a promise. Finish this sentence:

WHEN TIMES GET TOUGH, I PROMISE …

Daily Mindset and Affirmations Check-In

Each morning, take the time to check in and get set for the day. Get out your favorite notebook or journal and pen, and get to writing. These questions are meant to get you started, if you have others that are important to you to reflect on each morning add them into the routine as well.

MORNING AFFIRMATIONS: Give yourself a little affirmation. What are you best at? What do you need to boost yourself on today? Think statements like “I’m the best damn business woman in the country.” and “I can make the lead calls, I need to make today. I can do it!”

GOAL CHECK-IN: Where am I at on my goals this month? Am I meeting them? What else do I need to do? What do I need to accomplish today, in order to meet my goals?

TACTICS: What tactics are working best for me right now to get and keep business? What do I need to try out next?

CHALLENGES: Take a minute to reflect on any current challenges you may be having. Where are you at with a specific decision? What do you need to learn? Are you ready to make the next move?

ACCOUNTABILITY: Is there anything you need to check yourself on? What about encouragement? Give yourself a little personal accountability each morning. leanthef-ckout.com

KICK SOME ASS

MORNING ROUTINE MY TOOLS:

• Coffee (probably my most important tool) • Bullet Journal and my favorite pen • The great outdoors • Inspirational Book (current read: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown) • Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod (truth be told, I didn’t have time to read the full book, and am instead using this book summary) • Spotify playlist on my phone • Fitbit

STEP 1:

GET UP AND GET MY ASS IN GEAR!

• I set my alarm for 30 minutes to an hour before I need to get working • I drink a glass of water • I put on my FitBit

STEP 2:

SILENCE (S) Okay, I’m not a person that does well with silence or meditation or sitting still really. I am also a perfectionist and know that if I chose to meditate, I would put too much pressure on myself. So, instead I keep the silence pretty chill. For me, I sit outside on a bench (currently in front of a beautiful lake) and drink my coffee. I listen to and watch the birds (and when I’m lucky the Loon that graces our lake). I do this until I’m compelled to move to the next step. Usually it’s about half a cup of my coffee.

STEP 3:

AFFIRMATIONS (A) I have an affirmations page in my bullet journal. After my silence (and still while drinking my coffee), I read through my affirmations and when inspired I add more. I try to soak them in. Need help writing your affirmations? We created this free tool to help.

STEP 4:

VISUALIZATION I also have a visualization page in my bullet journal. I scan through it (still more coffee here) and then close my eyes and visualize exactly where I want to be.

STEP 5:

EXERCISE (E) - with music

I think of the exercise portion of my morning routine as getting the blood flowing —not a full workout (I do that later in the day). I start my Lean the Fuck Out playlist and just walk. I listen to music that makes me feel strong. For me, that’s bad ass girl rock (at least this week). Find what pumps you up.

STEP 6:

READING (R) For me, I like to read something that is going to center me. Right now it’s books of the self improvement variety.

STEP 7:

SCRIBE (S) / WRITING

It’s been interesting, I used to be a big journal writer but for some reason I’ve lost my passion for in-depth journaling. So, what I do here is simply write some basic reflections of how the process is going and any inspiration I have.

For me, all of these steps are about getting into the rhythm of the routine, not about any sort of perfection. Find what works best for you and give yourself a break. There is no perfection here. Just rhythm. That’s where I think the magic happens.

KICK SOME ASS

MORNING ROUTINE MY TOOLS:

• Coffee and a large glass of water • Bullet journal and thin sharpie • Walking shoes and clothing for the weather • Amazon music to fit my mood • My goals • Inspirational book (Currently read: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown) • Alarm clock, setup on the opposite side of my room

BEFORE BED AT 10 P.M. SET EXPECTATIONS FOR THE NEXT MORNING Getting up early and getting my armor ready, isn’t always what I want to do at 5:30 in the morning. Setting expectations in my mind, for how I want to start the day the evening before goes a long way for getting my mind ready for the early alarm.

WAKE UP AT 5:30 AM

Alarm sounds and I get out of bed, all the while thinking about how I want to hop back into bed. It’s a good thing I set expectations the night before.

BRUSH TEETH: 

Not only does this freshen my breath, but it helps me feel like I’m ready for the day.

DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER: 

It’s proven (so they say) that a full glass of water is important to a good start to the day. It seems to help wake me up.

PUT ON WEATHER-READY EXERCISE CLOTHES:

I try to set them out the night before, but do not always remember. In Michigan the weather is super unpredictable, but if my husband hasn’t left early for work, I strap on my headphones put on some music and get my butt outside and walk at least a mile. The fresh air and exercise is a perfect way to get going.

SHOWER:

When I get back from my walk, I hop in the shower. Even though I’ve been out for a walk, I’m not always fully awake, so I use the time in the shower to breath into the day. I use the time to take some deep breaths, enjoy the silence and get ready for the day.

COFFEE AND BREAKFAST:

Once I’m out of the shower and dressed, I grab some quick breakfast (hopefully with protein and some sort of vegetable) and a large cup of coffee.

PLANS FOR THE DAY:

With my coffee in hand and my breakfast on the table I sit down to write out my plan for the day and try hard not to jump into work on any of it yet. It’s important to me to write it out first though, because I set my daily goals and affirmations based on what I need to accomplish that day.

AFFIRMATIONS AND GOALS CHECK IN:

After my day is planned out I write out and sit with my daily affirmations. I like to stick with affirmations that help me overcome some of my biggest areas of personal struggle. My affirmations can be related to me being on my game at work, avoiding imposter syndrome, keeping my confidence up, or being honest about my needs with my husband and boys. Following affirmations, I take a look at my bullet journal goals list and see where I’m at on track towards my sales and marketing goals for the month and year. Each day I then also write goals focused on my plan for the day. Need help writing your affirmations? We created this free tool to help.

20 MINUTES WRITING OR READING:

Depending on the day, I either spend time writing or reading. If I write I focus on a passion topic or something related to my life. If I read, I read something for me, something to help me grow.

KIDDO SNUGGLES:

Usually while I’m reading or writing my oldest son gets up and wants to snuggle on the couch. It’s sometimes hard to pull myself away, but focusing on him for a little bit before I leave for work or my youngest gets up is a time we really enjoy together.

All together, my morning routine helps me to rejuvenate and focus on the inside, so that I can act and work fierce on the outside.
