Welcome

to the Chelsea Fringe Festival 2018! This map is an introduction to some of the many events taking place as part of the 7th international alternative garden festival, the ‘Fringe’ to the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show. Inside this programme you will find fun facts about this unique event, which includes community-garden activities, art installations, performances, food events, walks and talks. There is also a map showing the locations of a number of registered Fringe events – but remember, more will have joined since this guide went to press. So the best place for up-to-date information on everything that’s going on is our website:

We hope you will feel inspired to visit some of the green-fingered, open-hearted, inspired and inspiring people taking part in the festival. Tim Richardson, Director

festival promises a fabulous floral flotilla (think aquatic cars and dragon boats), sneaky peeks into secret gardens and poetry. Bracknell Forest Local gardening clubs and wildlife experts share their passions with visitors to the new Chelsea Fringe hub for 2018 in woody Berkshire.

this Kent market town holds its annual oneday garden party, with stalls, garden-arty demonstrations and workshops, and live music. Kent Bat and herbal medicine walks, a workshop and a chance to join in with an artist and her friends as they ‘draw the garden’ – Kent’s sixth year at the Fringe.

Exeter Described as a ‘floral happening’,

visitors will follow a trail to see gorgeous flower displays in the city’s shops and historic landmarks – a new fringe hub this year. Cornwall Whimsical floral demonstrations and indulgent cream teas will put visitors into a Chelsea fever – yum! And other surprises.

Sicily This fourth celebration of Mediterranean gardening has special Fringe events with the Botanic Gardens of Palermo, Botanic Garden of Catania, Radicepura, the council in Siracusa and a Ragusa artist. Florence Back again with a secret garden and other events. Japan Nagute’s artists, designers, chefs and students encourage visitors to have fun together in a whole host of different experiences.
