Large Animal Treatment Crew  



 

Get paid to improve your clinical skills! Large Animal Treatment Crew members work when the seniors are away from the hospital (Thanksgiving, winter break, Commencement, summer externships) to help keep the hospital running. One of the best ways to get to know faculty members, familiarize yourself with the workings of the VMTH, and learn by doing. Treatment Crew is divided into Academic Year and Summer terms. Please watch for an email from Delaina Matz in the next few weeks if you are interested.

Colic Team    

Colic Team is an on-call list that allows you to be notified and come to the VMTH if a colic comes in. There is a short training and a manual to help you. A great way to get to know senior students and residents. Your opportunity to learn how to: – – – – –

Foal Team 

 

 

Foal Team is a group of volunteers who assist with the care and monitoring of critically ill neonatal foals and crias in the VMTH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Learn how to use nursing equipment and watch the work-up of a neonate. Learn about common neonatal foal diseases such as: – Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy – Neonatal isoerythrolysis – Failure of passive transfer Play with cute fuzzy babies!
