GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASK(S) AND OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED

Under the general supervision of the ADG/Regional Representative and the overall technical supervision of the Senior Policy Officer in the Regional Office and the functional supervision of the Chief, Partnerships and Advocacy Branch, the Regional Partnership Development Officer will support the activities of the FAO Regional Offices in relation to links with various stakeholders. In particular, the incumbent will: 1.

Assist the regional offices in the development of partnerships and collaboration with different stakeholders (private sector, civil society, public sector and international organizations) at a regional and national level, for the implementation of the new FAO Strategic Objectives; Elaborate an action plan to work with civil society, international institutions and the private sector in the region, which will be aligned with FAO’s Strategic Objectives and corporate programmes in the region; Develop a contact database and carry out a maping exercise of existing partnerships between FAO and civil society, private sector, public sector entities and international organizations in the Region, maintaining a two-way communication and information exchange with these organizations; Forward specific issues regarding partnerships with CSOs and private sector, public sector entities and international organizations that may need to be brought to the attention of the OCPP branch in FAO Headquarters; Maintain close contact with HQ in terms of information, knowledge, and best practices identified in the region, disseminating information on relevant regional multi-stakeholder platforms and policy discussion fora; Perform any other relevant duties as requested.

Updated database of contact details and completion of the mapping exercise of relevant civil society organizations, private sector, public sector entities and international organizations which collaborate with FAO in the region Working plan document with civil society, private sector, public sector and international organizations in the region Documented assessment of capacity levels of relevant CSOs, private sector, public sector entities and international organizations in the region through collection and analysis of OCPP’s questionnaires to analyze their potential Proposals of new and strategic collaborations of FAO with Civil Society, the Private Sector, Public Sector and international organizations in the region Biannual support for the participation of Civil Society, the Private Sector, Public Sector and international organizations in the FAO Regional Conferences and Civil Society consultations

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Academic Qualifications

University degree in a discipline relevant to the work of the Organization. Technical Competencies and Experience Requirements

At least 3 years experience in relevant work with civil society organizations, private sector companies, public sector entities, international organizations and partnership matters Working knowledge of English Working knowledge of Russian would be an asset
