A 3 TERM COURSE WHERE YOU SPECIALISE IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION FROM DAY ONE! Graphics & Illustration is so much more than simply designing posters. If you are excited by Spirited Away, Manga comics, designing and producing computer games, developing character concepts for film and animations, web design, book illustration, designing prints for the fashion industr y, bags, merchandise or the world of adver tising, training in Graphics & Illustration can open up a wide range of career pathways. At CSVPA we provide a unique and highly personalised training environment in which to nur ture, educate and encourage young Designers of tomorrow. We will help you to understand the world of both graphics and illustration, teach you the skills and build your por tfolio so you can progress onto an undergraduate degree in a Visual Communications related subject.

FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN GRAPHICS & ILLUSTRATION Graphics and Illustration are the two key areas in the world of Design. They are the two sides of the same coin and they rely on each other. Illustrators create images to be used by and in conjunction with a graphic designer, who creates the overall design and look of the finished ar ticle. This course will give you the oppor tunity to learn about both sides, preparing you for degree level thinking. We will work closely with you to help you to understand research methods and how to implement them as you learn to reflect and evaluate on your work. To be a successful student in a UK Ar t School, you must be able to think and work independently and develop your own individual creative ideas. This course will give you the freedom to explore your ideas, allow you to experiment, make mistakes and learn from these mistakes which is vital in the world of graphics and illustration.

TERMS 1 AND 2 Throughout the first two terms you will be set a number of projects which you will work on, whilst developing your por tfolio. We will help you to identify the right universities and degree courses to apply to and suppor t you with your university applications through a combination of help from your dedicated University Application Officer as well as your lecturers, who are all experienced designers bringing a wealth of industr y knowledge.

TERM 3 The third term is all about your final major project. Final major projects have included branding for hotels and restaurants, adver tising posters, typographic installations, packaging design, designed and illustrated book covers, hand rendered typography, children’s pop-up books, guide books, store illustrations, children’s games, info graphics and editorial illustration. Example skills learned | repor tage drawing, digital design and illustration, typography, layout design, printmaking, photography, screen printing, Adobe Creative Suite using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Compulsory Subjects | Visual Studies, Life Drawing, Contextual Studies, English Language Progression - Degree in | Graphic Communication Design, Illustration Animation, Graphic and Media Design, Communication Design, 3D Game Design, Media Communications, Web Design

INDIVIDUALISED UNIVERSITY SUPPORT You will be suppor ted with your university applications through a combination of help from your dedicated University Application Officer as well as your lecturers, who are all experienced designers bringing a wealth of industr y knowledge. They will assist you with identifying the right university and degree courses to apply to and help you to submit your application.
