God has Loved You from the Get Go! Pastor’s Desk ~ April 1, 2018
We have talked a lot about breaking free from the Spirit of Inferiority. One of the great ways to do so is to recognize that you were known by your God before you came into the picture! You are as precious in His sight as any other human being. You are as important as any King or Queen, Prime Minister or President! God’s affection for you and I is not based on our performance nor on our status. This thing called “love” that the whole world is searching for, and in many cases will pay a high price for, is closer to you and I than we can imagine! We read in the book of Jeremiah at 31:3 – The LORD has appeared…to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an EVERLASTING LOVE; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” (NKJV). “Israel…met God out looking for them!” GOD told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!” (MSG). By now I guess you may have gotten the point. No matter what language or translation we use, they reflect the same basic principle. “You are loved, whether you like it or not!” God’s love for you is not a “dollar store love” that will last for a very short time and then break away. It’s not a “one night stand” and I’ll see you in another generation! His love is an “Ever” “Lasting” love. Endless love! Past performances and behavior will not affect His love for you; as the Message Bible (MSG) says:
“expect love, love, and more love!” Why, you ask? And you may even think that you don’t deserve it! Well the reason is that “He has never quit loving us,” even in our darkest hours! And that, my friend, is what we call “Love”, true love!! This love is based on “mercy” not on performance! No matter where you may be right now in life, before the world began you were in “His Mind” and He has done everything that needed to be done so that you and I can experience this love! Go right ahead, face the fact that you are not inferior to anybody and embrace the warmness of His love today, right now!!!! After all, God has loved you from the “get go”. Embrace God’s love!
