IEEE MAS SB Website Contest The IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Professional Communication Society in association with the IEEE Madras Section announces a Website Contest for all the Student Branches (SBs). The website of an entity is the web identity of the entity and can be used to let the world know about the entity through periodical updates about the entity, its organisation and its events etc. IEEE Madras Section (IEEE MAS) desires all its SBs to have web presence through an exclusive website for each SBs. In fact, IEEE MAS recognises the SBs having their websites by providing 10 points during the annual evaluation of the SBs for awarding them at the annual meeting. However, it is noticed that not many SBs have their websites. To encourage the SBs to have their websites, the IEEE CS & IEEE PCS along with IEEE MAS have come forward with this contest. The contest will be open for three months from 15th May 2017 to 15th Aug 2017. The SBs can form a website team with a maximum of THREE persons with the 1st one being the leader and the other two as the members. A team can have just TWO also – leader and a member. The website team is expected to create a website for their SB. The essential information of the website to include: SB Leadership (SB Counsellor, SB OBs, SB Advisors, Mentors), Society / Affinity Groups of the SB, SB events for the year, SB events archives for at least one year and Awards/Recognitions to SB. Additionally, the website can have Resources Column, Photo Gallery and other items of interest to IEEE members. The website team is free to develop the website using any software / utility of their choice. Even simply by using word document and storing them in gDtive of the SB email ID (presented during the IEEE MAS SB Officers Meeting in Feb 2017 – Pl. refer https://goo.gl/gkp54A ) is also OK as long as it meets the minimum criteria. The SB website hosting can be done using the IEEE web hosting services (http://sites.ieee.org/) or the Google sites (https://sites.google.com/ ) or sites like blogger (https://www.blogger.com/) or using the services of free website hosting sites or at the SB college website itself. At the end of the contest period (after 15th Aug 2017) the websites developed by the SBs will be evaluated and the following cash prizes along with the certificates will be presented to the teams. Three Top Prizes: First Prize : Rs. 5000 :: Second Prize : Rs. 3000 :: Third Prize : Rs. 2000 Five Consolation Prizes : Rs. 1000 each Certificate of Appreciation to all All the IEEE MAS SBs are encouraged to participate in the Website Contest and ensure that their SBs have the web presence which is most desirable in the current context. A nominal registration fee of Rs. 200/- per team from each SB is applicable to participate in this Contest.
