Title I ECHS Family Engagement Liaison

WAGE/HOUR: Non-Exempt

ROLE AND PURPOSE: The primary role of the Title I ECHS Family Engagement Liaison position is to support the needs of the families and children of the students enrolled in AISD ECHS; educates teachers and staff on how to communicate and work effectively with parents as equal partners; to cultivate and foster positive working relationships between Tarrant County Community College and AISD, so as to build strong partnerships that will assist students in their efforts to attain career goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Minimum Education/Certification & Experience  High School Diploma  Minimum 20 college hours  2 Years Related Work Experience Experience:    

2 Years Related Work Experience Bilingual (Spanish) – Reading and Writing Knowledge of college application and admission requirements Experience at a Title I campus preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I.

SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. Refers families to needed and available community or college resources. B. Initiate opportunities to build strong ties between the school, parents, and community. C. Manages space and operation of the ECHS Parent Resource Center D. Provides orientation for all parents new to the school E. Calculates and keeps accurate data of campus parental involvement F. Assists in the development/implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school’s Parental Involvement Policy and school compact

II.

SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS A. Creates opportunities to involve all parents in the education of their child B. Understands and respects the diversity of families’ economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations. C. Assist with planning parenting workshops, securing guest speakers and implementing parent based activities D. Develops and delivers large and small group presentations to assigned high schools, including student/parent information nights. E. Serve as between the school and the community, college to address questions and concerns among faculty, students, and parents. F. Conduct parent outreach as it pertains to the college and career model and goals G. Initiates and responds to parent phone calls, emails, and written correspondence related to Parent Involvement and/or Parent Center

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT A. Remain knowledgeable about NCLB, parenting topics, current family engagement trends and Early College High School knowledge by attending a variety of staff development

MISCELLANEOUS A. Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends. B. Performs other duties as may be assigned by C. Energetic and Positive
