NIKE PACER JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: NRC PACER - PACIFIC – CASUAL TIME ROLE (APPROX 2 EVENTS PER WEEK) EMPLOYED BY GEMBA (AGENCY) ON BEHALF OF NIKE AUSTRALIA MISSION/PURPOSE:

To carry Nike’s passion for running and enhance Nike’s product leadership position through to the athletes. We want you to be part of a team at NIKE+ RUN CLUB that inspires athletes*, from beginner to marathoner, to run their first, funnest, and fastest kilometres. It is your mission to work with the NRC Coaches to make better runners, and for many that means to get them started. Pacers are the lifeblood of NRC. They are at every NRC Live session and ensure that every runner has the best experience possible.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Pacers are Nike’s on the ground ambassadors at every session. They facilitate check-in, make people feel comfortable, answer questions, coach and refer people to the coach, and lead by example in every run. They build relationships with runners and connect them to the very best of Nike services and products. The ideal pacer is passionate abut running and Nike, as well as the ability to lead a group of runners and serve as ambassadors of the brand. PRE RUN / WARM UP • Review the sessions pre run to ensure you know the route and what groups you are managing • Take part in group run training sessions and prep pacers before run when required • Work closely with the NRC Live Coordinators to organise at event set up • Take part in dynamic educational clinics with Coaches • Contribute to new run routes and evolution of the NRC • Grow and contribute to the NRC community online • Amplify upcoming NRC experiences DURING RUN • Bring the energy • Act as greeters and hosts to every session • Facilitate check-in, make people feel comfortable, answer questions • Coach and refer people to the coach, and lead by example in every run • Build relationships with runners and connect them to Nike services and products • Help runners of all levels identify and reach their goals • Encourage all runners to use the NIKE+ RUN CLUB app when not at live sessions • Help to educate runners on appropriate footwear and apparel to improve their running experience POST RUN / COOL DOWN • Work closely with the NRC Live Coordinators to organise at event pack down • Contribute to post run reviews with the Coaches • Manage the Pacer team post sessions review • Take part in and contribute to quarterly NRC Live team meetings • Grow the NRC community online

1+ years of practical coaching/mentoring experience. Recommended but not required.

MINIMUM SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Communication/Language: • Confident public speaking skills • Ability to educate others through effective story telling • Familiarity with a variety of digital tools available to serve athletes (experience with Nike+ preferred) • Ability to create enthusiasm and excitement for the power that running can play in everyone's life • Commitment to delivering a premium consumer experience • Can effectively train and communicate the philosophy of the program to athletes • Must be able to weave a story through the training, the sessions, the season, the athletes • Can communicate to large and small audiences effectively Management: • Work and collaborate within a structured team inclusive of assistance coaches, coordinators, agency and Nike leadership • Can command a level of respect amongst the athletes • Makes decisions first and foremost with the athletes’ best interest in mind • Is open to learning and evolving • Is able to handle multiple responsibilities at the same time • Must proficient on workout protocol – water, fuel, safety, coaching • Must be on – any time, every time Running pedigree: • Is approachable by all levels of runners • Demonstrates a passion for sport with an authentic understanding of the sports technical aspects • Associates personal success with success of program and the athletes within it • Has proven the ability to build community around running • Is able to recommend training that can accommodate all runner types • Keeps energy of entire program high from start of session to the conclusion • Demands a level of excellence that inspires rather than intimidates • Must be passionate about running, both as a sport and as a lifestyle/state of mind • Passion for serving runners and athletes of all levels • Commitment to building a team which is passionate about running, sport and fitness Qualifications (preferable): • HLTAID003 Provide first aid • HLTFA311A Apply first aid
