Tech Devices & Apps for Seniors Statistics show seniors are increasingly embracing technology. There is a divide in use between younger and older adults, but seniors are seeing benefits of increased connection with loved ones, learning opportunities, and lifestyle enhancement through technology.



Did you know? Blueberries are where it's at! This super fruit has the potential to lower the risk of heart disease and cancer, and help to improve memory and cognitive function in some older adults. In those with cognitive impairments, it may be more effective. In a study of 47 adults over age 68 who had mild cognitive impairment, a blueberry-consuming group (versus placebo-consuming) had improved memory and access to words and concepts, per a study cited in 2016 by the American Chemical Society, an organization chartered by U.S. Congress.

Our resident of the month is Betty. She is 88 years old. She was born and raised in Niagara Falls New York. She moved to Oregon to live with her daughter a few years ago. Growing up she played softball and was nicknamed Joe Di Maggio because how well she played. She has two daughters, one that lives in Oregon and one that lives in New Hampshire. Betty always has a great attitude and loves to whistle at everyone and tell them they are beautiful. Betty has lived in our community for a little over a year and half. Congratulations on being our featured resident Betty.

Romey Our team member of the month is Romey. She is a housekeeper here at our community. She has worked here for nineteen years. She is loved by our residents and team members alike. Romey goes above and beyond from her housekeeping duties. She loves to decorate the residents rooms with fresh flowers from our gardens. The residents find joy from these deliveries from Romey. During holidays she is always decorating for the occasion. When asked what she loves to do she said that she loves doing her job and talking with all the residents and family members. Congratulations on being our featured team member Romey.
