United Way of Central Carolinas fights for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in our community. CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT OF OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL Focusing on education, health, financial stability, and basic needs, we work to address our community’s economic mobility challenges. Our two-generation approach supports the entire family by intentionally focusing on the needs of both parent and child. To create an environment of opportunity for all, we focus on building stronger neighborhoods, improving the systems that serve children and families, and providing basic needs support across our region. This targeted approach is fueled by broad civic engagement that brings together the people, resources and services necessary to improve economic mobility.

Impact Grants

United Neighborhoods

Unite Charlotte

We support our five-county region through a network of partners that work collaboratively to provide comprehensive and coordinated services to achieve the best possible results.

We utilize a community-led model to create sustained neighborhood change by working with key partners and community residents to drive transformation and revitalization efforts.

We support new and grassroots organizations through grants and capacity-building activities that strengthen organizational and financial stability, program quality, and growth.

Our community is made up of caring people who want to ensure an environment of opportunity for all. At United Way, we offer many ways – both big and small – for everyone to come together to take control of our future.

LEADING THE WAY

JOIN AN ENGAGEMENT GROUP

We come from different backgrounds and do different things, but we come together as one for the community. Choose the United Way engagement group that is right for you.

Leadership Circle – Donors exhibit dedication to improve the quality of life for all our neighbors by contributing at least $1,000 annually to United Way.

A-LIST - African-American philanthropic leaders unite to lead, influence, support, and teach our community in order to foster social equality.

WOMEN UNITED - Connect with an unstoppable network of female professionals, community volunteers, and business leaders dedicated to making a lasting impact.

Alexis de Tocqueville Society – Named for 19th century French intellectual Alexis de Tocqueville, the society honors community-minded investors who donate $10,000 or more annually.

LINC - Create change through fun projects and meaningful mission moments, all while networking with like-minded 20- to 30-year-olds over social gatherings.

YOUNG LEADERS - Join a diverse network of passionate young professionals in their 30s in philanthropic, volunteer, and leadership activities throughout the community.

By becoming a leadership donor at United Way, you’re rallying with others who have similar philanthropic mindsets and a passion for creating change in our community. United Way has three leadership categories:

Legacy Society – Allows donors to change our community forever by leaving a legacy for generations to come.
