Salary per Annum: $58,725 Benefits: Eligible for 100% employer paid benefits, including full health and dental and medical service plan coverage and matching Pension Plan contributions. Job Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of maintenance and repairs including corrective and preventative maintenance of building systems and day-to-day upkeep for the shelter program which includes three buildings. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor must supervise a team of nine internal janitors, all contractors and have the capacity to work with the Residential Facilities Coordinator when required. Qualifications Equivalent to three years post-secondary education or a level of completed education and training from a recognized related institution. More than three to five years of full-time experience consisting of facilities maintenance and operations oversite at a supervisory level, recent plant operations, or maintenance experience within a commercial/hospital/school facility. Must have experience supervising a team of maintenance and janitorial staff. Required to complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment. Skills & Abilities • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices and materials in building maintenance and renovations. • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and manage building issues as they arise. • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building, roofing, and mechanical systems. • Ability to motivate, trains, and assign work for building and maintenance job related procedures, codes, standards, and rules. • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, assess assignments and adjust or adapt as needed. • Direct and perform quality maintenance in a cost-effective manner. • Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and vendors.
