CORE MATERIALS Cabinet Core The cabinet core material is of 3/4" high density, 45 lb. industrial grade particleboard or medium density fiber board (MDF). Laminate or Veneer surfaced cabinet tops are 1 1/8", 45 lb. industrial grade particleboard or medium density fiber board (MDF). CABINET MATERIALS and FINISHES High Pressure Laminate The lamination process consists of laminate being adhered to the core material under pressure with a water‐based, formaldehyde‐free, low VOC adhesive. Select products have black or white melamine interiors; see individual product specifications for standard interior surface materials.

MATERIALS and FINISHES

Clean plastic laminates with mild soap and warm water. Do not use steel wool, hot water, or any abrasive cleaning product.

Veneer Nevins veneer casegoods are constructed of flat cut, book‐matched, architectural grade maple or cherry veneer. The veneer is stained with a penetrating wood dye, followed by two coats of high solids pre‐catalyzed lacquer. The finish is hand sanded between coats of lacquer. Veneers have a semi‐open pore finish with a 35% sheen. All veneer surfaced products have matching veneer interiors.

Floating Stone (Granite) Top Select veneer cabinets are available with a Floating Granite top. Granite floating tops are supported by 1 1/4" dia x 1"h satin aluminum stand‐offs with a low‐profile, domed cap. The stone is 3/4" thick, has a square edge and polished finish.

Care and Maintenance for Natural Stone Marble and granite, while hard and smooth, is not impervious to staining and scratching. The secret of preserving marble and granite in its original state is to keep it clean and avoid harsh chemicals. Do not use products that contain lemon, vinegar or other acids as a high acid content may etch the surface. Do not use scouring powders or creams as they may scratch the surface. Marble or granite should be washed often with clear, luke warm water on a clean soft cloth and cleaned more thoroughly twice a year with a mild detergent solution formulated for use on natural stone. It is strongly recommended that spills be wiped up immediately, as food and beverages are likely to damage stone. A coating of clear carnauba wax will help protect the surface and facilitates maintenance. Rewash after each cleaning. If through accident, or negligence, stains appear on surface, we then recommend you hire a professional natural stone restoration expert.

Care and Maintenance for KrystalCast® Care and Maintenance for Solid Surface Washing with soap and water is usually sufficient to remove surface dirt or residue. Ammonia based liquid cleaner (not window cleaner) may also be used. Always rinse surface thoroughly and wipe dry. Drying is an important step, preventing a build‐up of soap film or cleaning residue, which can create the appearance of light scratches over time. Stubborn soap film or cleaning build‐up in Corian is easily removed with an abrasive cleaner rubbed into the surface using a white Scotch‐Brite™ pad. When finished, rinse thoroughly and wipe dry. Avoid surface contact with chlorinated solvents, chloroform, methylene chloride (paint removers), very strong acids such as concentrated sulfuric acids, hydrochloric acids and acid drain cleaners. For additional care and cleaning instructions refer to www2.dupont.com

Clean KrystalCast® surfaces by washing with warm water and mild soap or dishwashing liquid. Do not sure solvents such as acetone, lacquer, thinner, gasoline, undiluted alcohol or benzene. KrystalCast® can be restored to its original finish by using a green 3M Scotch‐Brite™ pad. For deep scratch removal, use 320 grit and 400 grit sand paper followed by a green 3M Scotch‐Brite™ pad to achieve the same satin finish.

Linoleum is a non‐petroleum based, biodegradable material. It is manufactured from rapidly renewable resources including linseed oil, limestone, cork flour, rosin, jute and organic pigments. Linoleum is allergen free, has natural anti‐bacterial and anti‐static properties, self healing capabilities and is burn and scuff resistant.

Reconstituted Veneers Reconstituted veneers are engineered from sustainably harvested, African Obeche and Italian plantation grown poplar trees preserving rare and exotic species. Reconstituted Veneers, also known as Composite Veneers, are virtually defect free and unparalleled for consistency in grain and color.

Care and Maintenance for Tackboard Fabric To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean with a mild solvent, an upholstery shampoo, or the foam from a mild detergent. With either method, pretest a small area before proceeding.

White Board Surface Laminate white board has a high gloss finish with a 60 degree gloss meter reading of 100 + 10 gloss units.

Care and Maintenance for Laminate White Board Surface Use dry erase markers on the laminate marker board surface. White board laminate can be cleaned using a felt or multi‐purpose board eraser. When additional cleaning is needed, the laminate white board can be cleaned using any marker board cleaning solution of alcohol and water. The laminate white board has a high gloss finish so abrasive cleaners that may scratch the surface are not recommended. After extended use, solvents from dry erase markers form a film on the marker board creating a ghosting effect. A similar effect may occur if the marker is erased before it is completely dry. Ghosting caused by the mentioned conditions can be removed by applying isopropyl alcohol directly onto the ghosting area. Use a soft cloth to spread the alcohol. Wipe with medium force in order to remove the traces of the ghost writing. Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
