RECALL NOTICE Nanjing Kekang Outdoor Products, Co. Ltd. Announces Recall of Captiva Designs Bungee Chair (Model AC098) with Rivet Design
Affected Product:
Captiva Designs Bungee Chair (Model AC098) sold between May 1, 2016 and July 20, 2016 with rivet design as a fastening mechanism as shown in picture. This model number sold between May 1, 2016 and July 20, 2016 has two designs. One design uses screws to connect the chair frame and chair legs; the other uses rivets. The screw design chairs are not affected.
Potential Hazard:
The chair has a tested maximum loading capacity of 225 pounds and a warning label stating same. When a user weighing over 225 pounds sits on the chair, it presents a potential risk that the rivets will break, causing the chair to collapse and the user to fall to the floor, which may pose a potential falling and injury hazard. As a precautionary measure, we are recalling all rivet design Captiva Designs Bungee Chairs regardless of the consumers’ weight.
Remedy:
Consumers should stop using the affected Captiva Designs Bungee Chair immediately and return the chair to any Big 5 retail store for a full refund. If you are not sure whether your unit is a rivet-design model, you should stop using the chair immediately and return it to any Big 5 retail store.
