SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE

MDS accuracy is paramount in developing a personcentered care plan and the provision of quality care. In addition, one cannot ignore its importance in determining an accurate RUG score to ensure appropriate case mix. This workshop will focus on MDS accuracy as well as systems and processes needed to ensure appropriate case mix. Topics will include: Common MDS coding and scheduling issues, how to use the MDS and CAAs in care plan development, and overview of PPS and Medicaid RUGs, Quality Measures review and using the Quality Measures for Quality Improvement.

Learning Objectives:  Study common MDS errors, their causes and how to prevent them.  Discuss how to use the CAAs in care plan development.  Review PPS and Medicaid RUGs as well as the processes necessary to ensure a comprehensive and accurate case mix as well as improvement of your overall Quality Measures.
