Marathon Date: April 15, 2019.

Samaritans has participated as a partner of the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program for the past 11 years and looks forward to cheering on Team Samaritans at the 123rd running of the Boston Marathon . The selection of runners for the 2019 Samaritans Marathon Team is competitive and applications will be evaluated based on each applicant’s proposed fundraising commitment/plan, personal story, connection to the organization and mission, and commitment to completing the Boston Marathon. Our continued participation as a partner in the John Hancock Non-Profit Program is largely based upon our team’s fundraising success. Our Marathon team’s fundraising represents a significant portion of Samaritans’ operating budget, allowing us to serve more people. Therefore, it is very important that runners on our team fulfill their fundraising commitments. We require a minimum fundraising commitment of $8,000, with the understanding that one third of your commitment must be met by January 15, 2019 before we release your Boston Marathon registration. We require that you submit a credit card number which will be charged for any shortfall toward that one third benchmark and if you do not reach your final commitment by May 27, 2019.

Samaritans 2019 Boston Marathon Team Application Fundraising Commitment and Plan Samaritans runners are required to commit to raising at least $8,000. Our average raised per runner in the past couple years was $12,083 and we hope to exceed that number in 2019. We require team members to submit credit card information to meet any shortfall. 1) What is your personal fundraising commitment (Minimum $8,000)? ___________________________ If selected, you will be responsible for raising this amount and submitting a credit card number to pay any shortfall. Commitment levels will be considered when selecting the team, but please be realistic. 2) What is your fundraising goal? ____________________________ This is the amount you hope to raise.
