Speak like a pilot When pilots speak to the control tower, instead of using letters they use code words which form the phonetic alphabet. This means combinations of letters can be understood and pronounced easily, which is very useful at Heathrow, as our pilots come from all over the world and have many different accents! Can you recite the phonetic alphabet?
