Introducing SPIE Industrial Services SPIE is a leading player in the UK industrial sector, specialising in electrical and instrumentation engineering. In addition, we also provide a wider scope of engineering activities including mechanical, piping, civil, construction and maintenance services. With SPIE’s significant financial and technical backing, we provide a full suite of multitechnical and support services in a variety of design engineering fields such as electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and process. SPIE also provides vetted and qualified staff to conduct and manage on-site installation, testing and commissioning. These activities are also supported with the provision of long term site maintenance and facilities management to the industrial end user markets. Gas Fired Power Stations
In the UK, SPIE is a leading E&I contracting company in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) projects having completed three major schemes with Alstom. We also have the widest experience of new build plants in England and Wales providing complete project delivery.
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
In order that the UK can meet its emissions targets, a series of SCR projects have been commissioned within the existing coal fired power stations to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxide that is omitted into the atmosphere. SPIE has provided the engineering expertise to complete the electrical and instrumentation at Ratcliffe Power Station for EON.
Nuclear
Involved at every stage of the fuel cycle, from production to waste storage, SPIE provides nuclear power plant operators with advanced electromechanical and HVAC engineering solutions.

Anaerobic Digestion
Within our engineering portfolio SPIE has provided the innovation and engineering expertise to build the largest anaerobic digestion plant in Europe at Verdun for Ineos.
Gas Extraction and Storage
SPIE have the enviable position of being involved in gas supply from both upstream and downstream. We also provide electrical support and planned maintenance to Centrica on the Gas Storage platform 47/3B in the Rough Field of the North Sea, and are involved in the Breagh Field gas pipeline at Teesside and the innovative Storengy, Stublach Gas Storage salt cavern facility.
Wind Power
Amongst the top 5 European providers of wind turbine installation services, SPIE has extensive experience in site selection, negotiations and other aspects of project management.
Distribution and Transmission
As one of the leading companies in this highly specialised field of overhead distribution and transmission lines, SPIE builds and refurbishes HV overhead transmission and electrical lines up to a voltage of 275Kv for the owners of distribution and transmission networks including Electricity North West, Northern Ireland Electricity, Scottish Power, UK Power Networks and Western Power Distribution.
