Do you have what it takes to be a champion? We have lots of brilliant books that are sure to flex your reading muscles during this year’s Summer Reading Challenge – Record Breakers! Sign up to the challenge and try to beat the rest by choosing and reading six books from your local library this summer. You’ll achieve stickers and rewards for finishing books and a certificate at the end of the challenge.

We need you to make a new Guinness World Record! As part of the launch of the Summer Reading Challenge, local youngsters, parents and guardians will have the chance to be part of a huge record breaking attempt for Bridgend County Borough. Help us smash Good Morning Britain’s official record of 450 parents/carers reading to their children at the same time in a special event at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend on Saturday 18 July at 11.00 am. Record-breaking hopefuls can pledge their commitment by signing up at their local library now to receive a FREE registration pack and their own copy of Jack and the Beanstalk, which everyone will be reading during the attempt.
