Teal Slough Trail Willapa National Wildlife Refuge This site, located near the mouth of the Naselle River, supports a remnant coastal old growth forest represented by ancient cedars, and a Sitka spruce, western hemlock/salal community. The forest provides homes for two state and federally protected species, marbled murrelets and spotted owls, as well as Dunn's and Van Dyke's salamanders and Vaux's swifts and pileated woodpeckers. Deer and elk trails network the area. The Teal Slough Trail is easily accessible from Highway 101 and is approximately .57 miles round trip. Limited parking is available at the Teal Slough Gate; please do not block the gate.
