DSAM V3.7 firmware is now available online. DSAM V3.7 firmware on all DSAM models is now available on www.jdsu.com.

DSAM V3.7 Announcement JDSU has released the DSAM V3.7 firmware for the DSAM family of test meters. DSAM V3.7 is available online as an upgrade for previous firmware versions. Note: V3.7 is the last firmware release that supports non-XT DSAM models. To find out whether your DSAM is an XT version, please check the brow label on top of the DSAM screen.

V3.7 Firmware Enhancements DSAM V3.7 can be upgraded on existing meters. When existing units are upgraded to the V3.7 firmware, some new features will become available to the meter based upon the meter type along with additional enhancements from the previous version.

V3.7 Features and Enhancements: 1. Ingress Scan test is incorporated in Home Certification. Now customers have the ability to include Ingress Scan in the Home Certification process, and make sure that technicians certify the home wiring before leaving the customer premise. To configure and use Ingress Scan with Home Certification customers must use TPP V4.5 or later. 2. Upstream Spectrum test has been renamed to Ingress Scan. The ability to measure from 4 MHz to the diplexer frequency is standard, and the ability to measure from 4 - 110 MHz is a user purchasable option. 3. Downstream Spectrum test has been renamed to Spectrum. Renaming Upstream Spectrum and Downstream Spectrum eliminates the confusion on which test to choose when users need to perform spectrum analysis with the DSAM.

4. QAM Ingress test is now integrated with the DOCSIS® 3.0 board inside the DSAM. DSAM-6300 and other models that require QAM Ingress will have a thinner mainframe. 5. Individual Channel Check and limit is added in Home Certification as an additional test. By providing a user designated channel with its own high/low pass/fail limit, the Individual Channel Check insures signal level thresholds meet user requirements in the downstream path.

6. Support for dual (US/Euro) BPI+ Certificates. The DSAM will now attempt both US and Euro BPI+ certificates if they are present before falling back to BPI. 7. Enhanced process to support faster BPI certificate transfer. 8. Screen visibility improvements to Sweep tests. 9. Throughput server now supports Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). 10. Return Loopback and Return Alignment test are DSAM-6300 only options. These tests are not available on other models.

Measuring Hum and C/N on scrambled channels when it shouldn't – fixed. Level mode frequency tuning was saving incorrect limit check status – fixed. Low Pass Filter (LPF), dwell time, and Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) were not being saved in Spectrum test after users set their preferences. – fixed. Proof of Performance (POP) would allow file names too long for TPP – fixed. Test Point Compensation (TPC) and transmit (Tx) Reference files were not being cleared during a full meter reset – fixed.
