Aug 12 (Sun) Perseid Meteor Shower, 10pm at the Eagle Crest soccer fields, 7201 Fishback Rd. Members of the Indiana Astronomical Society will be on hand with telescopes to explore the moon, planets, nebulae and other wonders of the night sky. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, bug spray, and anything else to stay comfortable. We may cancel due to heavy cloud cover. To receive updates call 317-327-7148 before 5pm. All ages, free.

Sunday Morning Birdwalk, 9am-11am at the Ornithology Center. Join a group of new and experienced birders for a brisk morning bird walk! Meets every Sunday morning, rain or shine. The walk is not geared specifically toward children, but they are welcome to attend. Feeding Time, 1:30-2pm at the Earth Discovery Center. Watch as our educational reptiles, amphibians and other critters enjoy their lunch! Meet A Raptor, 2:30-3pm at the Ornithology Center. Join a naturalist to discover the world of raptors! You will meet one (or more!) of our special live birds of prey and learn about what makes them raptors.

Tuesdays: Story Time on the Reservoir, 9:30am at the Earth Discovery Center. After reading a nature-themed story, participants will be able to visit stations at their own pace. Stations will vary but may include puppets, coloring pages, artifacts with a naturalist, or additional books. Program is best suited for preschool and kindergarten, but early elementary students are welcome to join. Free with park admission. In good weather, the program will meet at the EDC shelter.

Wednesdays: In Concert with Nature/Jazz on the Point, 6:30pm at the Marina. Bring a blanket, some chairs, or cruise in on your boat to enjoy some local folk or jazz tunes every Wednesday night June–August. Picnics are welcome and the concession stand remains open until 7pm. Free with park admission.

Upcoming Programs: September 15-30: Images of Nature Art Show Nature Photographers: Enter up to 3 photos for a chance to win prizes. This is a juried photography exhibition that is judged by the Riviera Camera Club. Registration packets are available at the Riviera Camera Club website and artwork drop-off takes place on August 25 & 26. General Public: Photographs will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall of the Earth Discovery Center. Mark your calendars to visit the show during the exhibition September 15-30. October 27: Owl Festival Join us for a day dedicated to our favorite nocturnal hunter, Owls! Free programs for all ages including crafts, games, hikes, live owl programs, and pumpkin painting.
