! Early&Intervention&Reading&Initiative&(EIRI)&Workshops& The!Virginia!Department!of!Education!in!collaboration!with!the!Phonological! Awareness!Literacy!Screening!(PALS)!Office!at!the!University!of!Virginia!will!be! hosting!four!regional!EIRI!Workshops!during!the!2014K15!school!year.!The! purpose!of!the!workshops!is!to!provide!professional!development!and!technical! assistance!to!KK3!classroom!teachers!and!reading!specialists!as!they!carry!out!the! priorities!of!EIRI.!Topics!will!include!early!reading!instructional!strategies!and! resources,!using!PALS!for!formative!assessment!and!progress!monitoring,!using! PALS!electronic!lesson!plans,!and!making!the!most!of!PALS!reports!and!resources.! Registration!is!limited!to!the!instructional!staff!previously!cited,!and!will!be!on!a! firstKcome,!firstKserved!basis.!Interested!teachers!should!contact!their!PALS!
