SHINING THE LIGHT ON NON-ECONOMIC LOSSES WHAT ARE NONECONOMIC LOSSES? The term economic losses can be understood as the loss of resources, goods and services that are commonly traded in m a r k et s . T h e t e r m n o n economic losses can be understood as the remainder of items that are not economic and are not commonly traded in markets. The absence of a market price is one of the main reasons why assessing noneconomic loss is challenging, but their effect on human welfare is no less important.

WHAT DO NONECONOMIC LOSSES MEAN TO YOU? We welcome you to our photo booth, where we can take a photo of you with your answer to this question - individually or with colleagues. We invite you to share your photo via Instagram or twitter using #climateNELs, #SB44 and @UNFCCC. You can also ask our side event speakers questions. If your question is popular, it will be read out at our side event (see green box for details ). The photo booth will be open 16-18 May 2016.
