Overview: Amuse is the groundbreaking travel and experience channel from VICE that sees the world through a whole new lens – bringing a unique blend of adventure, adrenaline and antidote in a number of editorial and branded formats. It’s the global go-to platform for millennials looking for relevant insider guides, outsider perspectives, original features and beautiful photo-stories from around the world. Amuse creates content to trigger passions and inform choices. The Role: As Senior Editor you will be reporting into the Head of Content and will help shape the editorial vision for Amuse, through conceiving, commissioning and subbing first-class travel and luxury content. You will oversee all aspects of the editorial department, ensuring that your team is meeting the strategic and commercial needs of the Publisher. At any given time, your responsibilities range from editorial to human resources to budgeting. You are ideally well travelled, with an extensive contact book of writers and photographers and experience in managing editorial teams. Responsibilities: • • • • • • • • • • • •

You will be setting the vision and strategy for multimedia Amuse content. Planning, creating and commissioning a range of content across editorial & video. Setting and maintaining the channel’s editorial vision & tone-of-voice, as well as development of editorial content themes. Responsible for the success of the editorial department. Managing the content approval process, chairing regular editorial and review meetings Managing a team of editors and content creators, while collaborating as appropriate with senior level clients. Developing an overall content plan and calendar, both in conjunction with clients and respective stakeholder input. Overseeing 3rd-party partnerships with content providers. Measuring the success of content and optimising the planning and generating process. Maintaining strong relationships with managers in other key VICE departments to understand company-wide strategic and business objectives. Overseeing recruitment of new channel staff Overall control of departmental editorial budget.

The ideal candidate will have: • • • •

Proven experience in an editorial capacity at a large publication/website. Some experience managing a team in an editorial capacity. Knowledge of video production. Understanding of and interest in current affairs, music, the arts and counter culture

An online personal presence (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) Intermediate knowledge of HTML, Keynote, Photoshop, Word, etc.
