Effective Friday, January 26, 2018 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the following Walk Bridge Program activities for Saturday, January 27, 2018 through Saturday, February 3, 2018. RAILROAD ACTIVITY 

Track work is anticipated to occur on the Danbury Branch Line between Marshall Street and Science Road, Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2, 2018 from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. No impacts to local roads, rail service or pedestrian traffic are anticipated. Please watch for the entering and exiting of trucks in the vicinity of Science Road. Map



Catenary structure removal is anticipated to occur on the east side of the Danbury Branch Line from the mainline wye to Jennings Place, Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2, 2018 from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. This work is also anticipated to occur, Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10:00 PM-6:00 AM. No impacts to local roads, rail service or pedestrian traffic are anticipated. Map

ROADWAY ACTIVITY 

A daytime lane closure will occur on Osborne Avenue in the vicinity of the railroad bridge to facilitate subsurface investigation work, Monday, January 29, 2018 from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM. Alternating one-way traffic and access to all properties will be maintained. A police officer will be on-site to facilitate traffic. Map



Subsurface investigation work is anticipated to occur in the vicinity of the East Avenue Railroad Bridge, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. No impacts to local roads, rail service or pedestrian traffic are anticipated. Map

PLEASE BE ADVISED    

The SoNo Collection Mall project will be closing North Water Street between West Avenue and Oyster Shell Park starting January 24 through mid-April 2018 for construction. Details Work is weather permitting and will be rescheduled as necessary. Updates are provided weekly and any unforeseen schedule changes are updated on the Program website and social media. All local business access will be maintained.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is undertaking the Walk Bridge Program to replace the deteriorating railroad bridge over the Norwalk River in Norwalk, CT. One of the oldest movable bridges in the country, the Walk Bridge is a critical transportation link on the Northeast Corridor between Washington, D.C., New York City and Boston carrying four tracks of Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak and freight service.
