Resident Webinar: Building a Sound Financial Base as a New Prac44oner
It’s that Fme of day when the morning adrenaline and lunch carbohydrates both come crashing to the floor at a staggering rate. Today is day 274 of residency, and I am Fred. The moment in life when I will transiFon from general residency to specialized training is rapidly approaching, and at this Fme next year, I may have already accepted a posiFon as a “real pharmacist.” That thought is an interesFng combinaFon of terrifying and exhilaraFng and caused me to pause for a moment today.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE GLOBAL HEALTH PRN The Global Health PracFce and Research Network (PRN), one of the newest ACCP PRNs, was established in July 2014. This PRN was created out of a need to provide clinical pharmacists, trainees, and researchers with a single network to address global health concerns, reduce dispariFes in the delivery of pharmacy services on an internaFonal level, and learn from the successes and mistakes of other naFons through educaFon, research, and idea sharing. Currently, the Global Health PRN has 173 members, including 81 students, 11 residents, and 3 fellows. Global health transcends all disease states and paFent populaFons; accordingly, the Global Health PRN membership is diverse in clinical, educaFonal, and research interests and experiences that span non-‐communicable diseases, infecFous diseases, HIV, women’s health and beyond.
