INTRODUCTION In the event of a major disaster, it is important that employees of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District have food and water supplies to continue with emergency operations. Each station is equipped with food and water supplies to feed personnel during the first 5 days of an incident. POLICY It is the policy of the San Ramon Fire Protection District to maintain adequate food and water supplies to feed District personnel during the first 5 days after a major disaster. PROCEDURE All stations are inventoried and updated every 5 years. The emergency food supply consists of freeze dried and dehydrated food packs. These food packs have a five (+) year shelf life and will be replaced accordingly. As replacement inventory is required, contact the Operations Assistant Chief, who will coordinate the process. In addition to the food supply, the earthquake caches contain potable water, water filtration systems, propane stoves with fuel, plates, and utensils.
