V. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) mentioned under UGC’s Regulations, 2010 and subsequent amendments.

Good academic record as defined by the university with at least 55% of the marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master's Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. ii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this clause 4.4.1, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions. Candidates who have been awarded or registered for Ph.D. before 2009 under the then existing rules (old rules) but degree awarded after the new UGC’s regulations came into force in 2009 are also eligible. iii. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master's Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

The minimum requirements of a good academic record, 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the master's level and qualifying in the National Eligibility Test (NET), or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test- SLET /SET), shall remain for the appointment of Assistant Professors. NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions. Candidates who have been awarded or registered for Ph.D. before 2009 under the then existing rules (old rules) but degree awarded after the new UGC’s regulations came into force in 2009 are also eligible. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Degree Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) will be required at the Master's level for those recruited as teachers at any level from industries and research institutions and at the entry level of Assistant Professors. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. the eligibility marks of 55% marks (or and equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible. The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for the appointment of Professors. The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for all candidates to be appointed as Associate Professor through direct recruitment. The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. All academic qualification are required to be obtained from recognized Indian university or foreign university.

MANAGEMENT (MBA) : (As per AICTE (Degree) Regulations 2010)

• ASSISTANT PROFESSOR : (15,600-39,100 AGP 6,000/-) 2 – post (SEBC-1 & Gen-1) First Class or equivalent in Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent and 2 years relevant Experience is desirable.

• ASSISTANT PROFESSOR : (15,600-39,100 AGP 6,000/-) 2 – post (SEBC-1 & Gen-1) (i) Postgraduate degree with minimum 55% marks in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization. (ii) Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed./M.A. Education) with minimum 55% marks. (iii) Any other qualifications prescribed by UGC / Affiliating Body / State Govt from time to time for the positions of Principal and Lecturers shall be mandatory. Which are as under. i.

Instruction - 1

: Instructions to Candidate (Teaching Positions) : 1.

Candidates should send their applications with attested copies of certificates in support of their qualifications, experience, age and other achievements.

Candidates belonging to reservation category (SC/ST/SEBC) must attach necessary certificate from the competent authority of the state. SEBC candidate should furnish the Current Financial Year’s "Non-Creamy Layer Certificate” in the prescribed Performa along with his/her application form, failing which the candidate will not be entitled to get the benefit of reserved category. The reservation of posts shown above is for the candidate of Gujarat State origin only, therefore other candidates need not apply against these posts.

If the space provided is insufficient, information may be given on a separate sheet signed by the candidate and the same may be sent with the application.

Applicants must submit the application in eight set (1 Original + 4 Photocopies), First filled in original form by hand written and attached all certificate then after make 4 (Four) Photo copies.

Calculation of API score for Category –III RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS :

• Research Papers o 15 points per publication in refereed journals. o 10 points per publication in non-refereed but recognized and reputed journal with ISSN/ISBN numbers. o 10 points per publication in conference proceedings as full papers. Augmentation in API scores for papers in referred journals. o 5 points of indexed; 10 points for impact factor between 1 & 2, 15 points for impact factor between 2 & 5 and 25 points for impact factor between 5 & 10. o For example if a research paper is published in a refereed indexed journal with impact factor 3.17, than the total API score for that publication will be 15+5+15=35. In case a research paper is published in a referred indexed journal with impact factor 0.56, then the total API score for the publication will be 15+5=20. If a research paper is not published in any refereed journal but in a journal having ISSN/ISBN number, then there will not be any augmentation of points to the total points (which is 10) for such a publication. Calculation of API scores for joint publications. o Of the total score for a publication submitted by a teacher, the First / Principal author and the corresponding author / supervisor / mentor of the teacher would share equally 60% of the total points and the remaining 40% will be shared equally by all other authors. o Let total API Score for a PUBLICATION submitted by a teacher be 30 and Let there be THREE AUTHORS X, Y & Z. Case-1 : Suppose X is First/Principal author, Y is supervisor and Z is teacher who is corresponding author, then each will get 18 (60 % of 30) points each. Case-2 : Suppose X is First/Principal author, Y is teacher (the applicant) and Z is corresponding author, then X and Z will get 18 (60 % of 30) points each where as Y will get 12 (40% of 30) points. Case-3 : Suppose X is the teacher (the applicant) who is the First/Principal author as well as the corresponding author and Y and Z are co-authors, then X will get 18 points whereas Y and Z will get 12 points each.

o Let total API Score for a PUBLICATION submitted by a teacher be 25 and Let there be FOUR AUTHORS W, X, Y & Z. Case-1 : Suppose X is First/Principal author, Y is supervisor Z is teacher (the applicant) and W is the corresponding author, then W, X and Y will get 15 (60 % of 25) points each where as Z will get 10 (40% of 25) points. Case-2 : Suppose X is First/Principal author, Y is teacher (the applicant) who is also the corresponding author and W and Z are co-authors, then X and Y will get 15 (40 % of 25) points each where as W and Z will get 10 (40% of 25) points each. For instance if there are THREE authors say X, Y and Z for a book then X, Y and Z will get 17 points each. 10 points per chapter in an edited book : Maximum points for writing chapters in an edited book can not be more than 50 for sole author. In case there are THREE authors writing a chapter in an edited book, then 10 points will be distributed among them and each author will get 4 points. o Subjects Books by National level publishers with ISBN/ISSN numbers. 25 points per sole author : In case of joint authorship, points will be equally distributed. For instance if there are THREE authors say X, Y and Z for a book then X, Y and Z will get 9 points each. 5 points per chapter in an edited book : Maximum points for writing chapters in an edited book can not be more than 25 for sole author. In case there are THREE authors writing a chapter in an edited book, then 5 points will be distributed among them and each author will get 2 points.

• TRAINING COURSES : o A Training/Refresher course of Two weeks or more will get 20 points and a one week course will be awarded 10 points. In this category, an applicant can obtain maximum 30 points. Page 2 of 3

Instruction - III

General instructions/guidelines for claiming the marks/score under Score card Proforma. The candidate must read the following carefully before filling in the score card proforma. • The candidate must read and be unambiguously clear about the instructions for calculation of the marks claimed. • The candidate must himself/herself write his/her marks claimed against each criteria below the column MARKS CLAIMED in the Score Card Proforma. • Self-attested photocopies of supporting documents and testimonials i.e. Score Card Proforma and Degree Certificates of all the educational qualifications, extra curricular activities, reprints of publications, teaching/post doctoral experience etc. must be attached as proof for marks claimed against each criteria must be attached with this score card also. Failing which no marks will be given for those documents. • The candidate cannot claim marks over the stipulated limit of maximum marks. However, marks claimed over the stipulated maximum limit will not be considered for eligibility. • The candidature of candidate shall stand automatically cancelled in the event of the following: o False claim for marks. o Failure to produce at the time of interview all documents and testimonials, in the original. o If the candidate submits unsigned Score Card Proforma. Academic Qualification: • 50% marks of the total percentage obtained in PG degree • 5 marks for NET/SLET • 5 marks for M.Phil/M.Litt. No marks of M.Phil./M.Litt. shall be claimed in case of a cadidate having a Ph.D. degree. • 10 marks for Ph.D. • 5 marks for Gold Medal/1st Rank in PG degree/Qualifying degree (Overall / any subject) Extra Curricular Activities: • 3 marks per event for the first position at the State / National level competition of a recognized Institution/University/Government. • 1 mark per event for participation in the State / National level competition of recognized Institution/University/Government. • 2 marks for NCC ‘B’ / ‘C’ Certificate • 2 marks per NCC Merit Certificate

Participation/Publication: • 1 mark per event for participation in the National/International level event i.e. seminar/workshop/symposia etc. • 1 mark each for participation in the Refresher Course/Orientation Programme. • 2 marks per event for presentation of research paper in the National / International i.e. seminar/workshop/symposia etc. • 3 marks per publication having ISSN/ISBN of the research paper at the National / International level event i.e. seminar/workshop/symposia etc. • Certificate of participation/presentation of a research paper must be required for claiming marks. • Marks shall be claimed for the National/International level event only. Marks for the state/regional/domestic level event shall not be considered. • Any event organized in Gujarat/origin of candidate in collaboration of any recognized/statutory institution of other state shall be considered as National level and marks can be claimed accordingly. • Marks can be claimed for publications having ISSN/ISBN only. • Any event organized outside Gujarat state/origin of candidate can be considered as the national level event. Experience: • 1 mark per year for UG experience and 2 marks per year for PG experience under regular appointment. • Regular appointment means an appointment through Selection Committee as per ordinance/rules/regulation/statutes of University/UGC/Council. • University recognition letter is mandatory for claiming marks for experience. • An experience of an adhoc/contractual appointment made by state government in government/grant-in-aid colleges alongwith University recognition letter can be considered. • For claiming marks for PG experience, PG recognition letter of University and certificate of the head of department/principal are mandatory. • An experience of adhoc/contractual appointment without recognition letter of University cannot be considered. • An experience of adhoc/contractual appointment in the University department through selection committee can be considered. • 1 mark per year for PG part time university recognized experience and ½ mark per year for UG part time university recognized experience. University recognition letter is mandatory. Additional/Any other Degree/Diploma/Certificate Course other than basic qualification required to qualify. • 3 marks per degree course of recognized University. • 2 marks per diploma course of recognized University. • 1 mark per certificate course of recognized University/Institution/Government. • Certificate of SCOPE/GKS/SPIPA/ITI/DOECC can be considered. • Certificate of Hindi/Sanskrit/Gujarati examination of recognized University/ Institution/Government can be considered.
