Post-Summit Workshop 31 May & 1 June 2018

Engineering Professionals Leadership Workshop Engineers work and lead most effectively when they are utilising their natural strengths. Projects succeed in an environment where relationships are strong and organisational goals, values and results are owned and clear to everyone. To emerge as a skilled leader within an engineering environment, you must remain resilient to adverse industry circumstances and take the time to build a team from a foundation of natural strengths and abilities. Leaders who employ this approach create an environment of success and enjoy the benefits of increased staff engagement and satisfaction. This workshop will explore a variety of practical tools and techniques, drawing from a strengths-based approach to lift the performance of teams operating in an engineering environment. As a leader, an engineer will be required to interact with and encourage buy-in from a wider range of stakeholders, each with varying expertise. Strengthening your communication style will not only make this possible, but lead to improved staff engagement and performance through feedback and clear direction. Utilising clear communication and understanding the difference between leading and managing are vital to creating an effective leadership approach This workshop will equip engineers and similar technical professionals with leadership skills, business acumen and add value to their organisation by coupling technical expertise with strategic thinking and effective leadership. Throughout this interactive session, participants will explore a range of practical methods, tools and techniques, whilst exchanging ideas on how to solve real world problems. Day One
