Speakers (A.M.) Chester is the Acting General Manager – Human Resources (China/International & Development) of the MTR Corporation. He is responsible for overseeing the Management Training & Development Dept, Human Resources Management Dept for China & International Business and Organization Development Dept. He is also the Principal of the Academy of Excellent Service, whose mission is to instil a customer-centric culture, provide skills training, and support MTR’s delivery of excellent customer service. Chester holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Education. He currently serves as the Fellow & Council member of the HKIHRM & Co-Chairperson of the Institute's L&D Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Human Capital Management Society (formerly the Personnel Management Club) of the HK Management Association. A number of his cultural change and personal effectiveness programs have been duly recognized by winning global/local HR awards, in particular the Association for Talent Development (formerly American Society for T& D) “BEST” Awards (1st ranking in Asia and 2nd worldwide), the Global HR Excellence Awards, the Gold Prizes of the USA Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Technology Awards. To promote the Qualification Framework (QF) in the HRM sector, he is currently appointed as a member of the HKSAR Cross-Industry Training Advisory Committee. He is also serving as a committee member of the Vocational Training for People with Disabilities.

Barry Ip is currently working as the Regional Director - Learning and Development with Jabil Inc, a leading Fortune 500 organization. Barry has over 25 years of solid work experience in the HR field. He has previously worked at the executive level and regional leadership roles for leading companies such as The HK Jockey Club, Microsoft, Wilson Learning etc. He is also the Co-chairman of the L&D committee of HKIHRM.

Dean has been with Thomson Reuters for nearly 10 years and is currently the Head of Risk Sales Specialists for North Asia, helping banks and corporate to optimize Risk & Compliance programs including rolling out compliance training curriculum. Before taking up this role, Dean headed up the due diligence business across Asia Pacific and was a researcher with World-Check. Dean has worked with some of world’s largest banks, software companies, oil companies and pharmaceutical companies assisting them with their Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Fraud, Pre-IPO, M&A and KYC due diligence, and helping them identify and manage compliance and regulatory risks.

Speakers (A.M.) A doctoral graduate from the University of Western Australia, Grant is a specialist in the behaviors and literacy required for high level business improvement throughout organizations. He is a frequent presenter at International Management Conferences and has led numerous management tours to the best performing worksites in Europe and North America. Grant has written five management books including the best-selling, “The Customer and the Performance Power of Self-Managed Work Teams,” and is co-author of the very popular “Coffee Conversations: The Simple Leadership Secret of High Performance Workplaces.” Grant is presently the Managing Partner at Paradigm Learning Asia Pacific, a training company delivering the Paradigm Learning group of simulation education programs in Australia, New Zealand, India, China and South East Asia. These simulations include the very popular Zodiak® program, which simply and effectively teaches financial and business literacy (business acumen) to staff at all levels of an organization, and the very popular project management simulation called Countdown.

Mr. LIU Kwok Tai, Teddy is the Head of the Corporate and Talent Development Department of New World Development Company Limited, responsible for planning, promoting and managing New World Group’s corporate strategy, management system, process improvement and business and operational reviews, as well as for overseeing the Group’s talent training and development function, including setting talent development strategies and advocating learning initiatives based on the “training for development” rationale. He is also the Head of Group Internal Audit, responsible for the risk management, corporate governance and internal audit affairs of New World Group. Mr. Liu is a professional accountant and a member of various professional bodies, including the Hong Kong Certified Public Accountant, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant of England, the Institute of Hong Kong Certified Public Accountants, the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, the Hong Kong Institute of Company Secretary, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of England, and the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Hong Kong.

Perdeep started his career as a researcher in the National University of Singapore and moved on to a business development role with the world largest scientific publisher, Elsevier. After a span of 13 years culminating in an APAC-wide senior leadership role, he moved to the Corporate Learning Group of Harvard Business School Publishing (a wholly owned subsidiary of Harvard Business School). He has a keen interest in leadership and mindfulness and spends his available time reflecting on leadership lessons from ancient Asian scriptures.

Speakers (P.M.) Mr. Gene Cai joined ATD as China Director since July 2015. He is in charge of overall operations & management for China Market. Before joined ATD, he has more than 12 years’ experience in the area of sales & marketing. During that period of time, he did excellent jobs by helping former employers to improve the customer relationship management systems, build up the solution selling model, develop & lead internal sales training programs, established strategic partnership with universities, and etc. With the help of Gene, ATD China remains its fast growing in every aspect.

Kevin joined Tencent in July 2011,till now he has 10 years’experience in leadership improvement and talents development. He specializes in developing and optimizing management hierarchy, leadership project design and assessment center benchmarking on learning and development. He has been working for China Mobile and professional training agencies before joining Tencent. Kevin was the participant of Tencent Feilong Program since Phase 8. From 2014 to now, as project manager , he is responsible for the overall management of Phase 10 to Phase 12 by taking up an important role in program upgradation and optimization.

Terence has worked in the Belle group for more than 8 years. He started the establishment of training system for different retail brands. Currently, he focuses on leading both the Corporate Learning & Development and Staff Relation team to setup & operate the corporate staff training system as well as to enhance the staff engagement program respectively. He also plays a key role in transferring the best practice of HK training program to HR partners of China within the group. Terence holds a MBA degree from Poly University and a bachelor degree of Quantitative Analysis for Business from City University. He will also finish a Master degree of Strategic HR Management from Baptist University in 2016. He is a NLP trainer and certified administrator of MBTI.

Charles is the Manager - Global Training of MTR Corporation Ltd, responsible for developing strategic T&D plan and steering different management T&D initiatives to facilitate the enhancement of staff competencies for MTR operations in Mainland and overseas. He is also managing the Corporate Work Improvement Team (WIT) Programme in HK, China and International Business hubs, which has been recognized by winning a number of global and local T&D awards by Association for Talent Development (ATD) in US, Shanghai JiaoTong University, HK Management Association (HKMA), etc. Prior to joining MTR, Charles held management positions in both corporate and HR / T&D consultancy companies in HK and China. He graduated from HKU with an engineering degree, acquired his MBA in HKUST. Besides, Charles was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship to complete Business Leadership programs in London Business School and Cambridge University in UK. He was also named as “Top 5 Emerging Training Leader” by US Training Magazine.
