THE EXHIBITION
CRAFT OPEN WEST MIDLANDS will be the first craft open to be held at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, allowing makers in the West Midlands the chance to show their work at this prestigious venue. The exhibition will embrace a wide range of contemporary craft practice, reflecting the vibrant talent of the regional crafts scene.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
CRAFT OPEN WEST MIDLANDS welcomes submissions from all makers living in the West Midlands region, incorporating Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
WHAT IS ELIGIBLE?
Entrants can submit up to 3 original works, made since January 2014 in the form of: Automata Ceramics Furniture Glass Jewellery Metal Plastics Textiles Wood

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Fine art, photography and print-making are not eligible.
Work must not exceed 25kg in weight.
Wolverhampton Art Gallery reserves the right to exclude at any stage work that poses a health and safety risk, or is deemed inappropriate in content.
Selection will be made by independent judges. The judges’ decision will be final.
Applicants will be informed of the decision by the end of July 2016.
Selected work must be delivered to Wolverhampton Art Gallery between Thursday 8 September and Sunday 11 September 2016, 10am – 4pm.
All wall mounted work must be ready to hang, with mirror plates fixed to the back
All work must be clearly labelled with artist’s name and title of work
Work must be collected on Thursday 10, Friday 11, Saturday 12 or Sunday 13 November between 10am and 4pm.
The City of Wolverhampton Council will be responsible for loss or damage of work(s) whilst in the custody of Wolverhampton Art Gallery at the insurance valuation provided.
Wolverhampton Art Gallery does not accept any responsibility for the work(s) in transit to or from the exhibition space.
