All participants involved in creating or appearing in the video (director, screen writer, editor, actors, etc.) must be 12-18 years old and either live or attend school in the City of Vaughan. All participants involved in creating or appearing in the video must submit an entry form. Participants may only be involved in creating or appearing in one video entry. Participants can work in teams, but please note that a single prize will be awarded for each winning team. Participants will need to create one YouTube account per video entry. Participants must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Service. Participants are responsible for successfully uploading their videos onto their YouTube account. Video entries must be labelled as ‘public.’ Each video can be up to 2 minutes in length. Participants can use YouTube’s audioswap to add (fully replace) music to the audio track of their video. The music in the audioswap library is fully licensed. This feature overwrites the audio track to your videos. This is the only commercial music permitted in entries. All footage used in the video must be original and filmed by the video creators. If you plan to film in a VPL library, please contact a Youth Services Librarian at that location, in advance, with an overview of what you plan to do in the library and to arrange a time. Please respect the privacy of others in the library and do not film them. Participants grant Vaughan Public Libraries the non-exclusive rights to use and/or distribute their videos to the media for promotional purposes. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners need to supply VPL with a copy of their video on DVD to be used during VPL’s Teen Awards, October 22. Videos will be tagged onto the VPL Video Contest Channel after the competition deadline. Questions?
