Amegy Bank will occupy over 16,000 square feet at Esperson located at 808 Travis/815 Walker streets in Downtown Houston. Amegy choosing Esperson for both a street level retail presence as well as private wealth management office is not only important for Esperson’s redevelopment but also affirms Downtown’s revitalization. IA Interior Architects “IA”, whose Houston office is also located at Esperson, will serve as the lead architect on this premiere Amegy Bank location. The Niels and Mellie Esperson buildings were originally constructed in 1927 and 1941, and are known today as “Esperson.” A third contemporary lobby, the Rusk Lobby, was opened in 2014 as part of Cameron Management’s long term vision and redevelopment of this iconic building. This new street level access to Rusk Avenue and the METRORail, connects to the Downtown tunnel system via an escalator. It is Cameron Management’s desire to honor the historic legacy of Esperson, while creating an “architectural bridge” connecting the past with the present. “Esperson communicates the renaissance of Downtown.
