Eurostar October 2016 Job Losses Announced Announcement to Company Council

Your TSSA Representatives:

The TSSA met with the company at an extraordinary Company Council meeting last week in order to understand the current situation with the severe reduction in passenger numbers and revenue over 2016.

After significantly reducing costs in other areas the company has announced an 8% reduction in train services. As a result of running fewer services the company have notified of their intention to make a reduction of 80 posts in the following areas by the end of the year:

Voluntary Severance In order to avoid compulsory redundancies the TSSA have agreed to a period of expressions for Voluntary Severance in all the affected areas (with the exception of Times House where specific individual roles will be identified). This will be open from 10th until 21st October and it should be noted that expressions are not a guarantee that VS will be granted. Currently we are awaiting further detailed information on the roles potentially at risk in Time House and a full set of proposals from the company in order to commence consultation at Company Council going forward.
