Evacuation Alerts Rescinded for North Thompson Areas For Immediate Release (July 30, 2017 – 3:00 p.m.): Evacuation Alerts in the North Thompson areas including Hallamore Lake, McCarthy Lake, Dunn Lake and Little Fort have now been rescinded by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. Significant progress has been made on the fires previously referred to by BC Wildfire Service as the “Little Fort Complex Fire”. These fires included the Dunn Lake, Thuya Lake, and Lemieux Creek wildfires. It has been determined that these fires no longer pose an imminent risk.

For more information contact: Debbie Sell, EOC Information Officer, [email protected], 1-866-377-7188 The TNRD covers 11 municipalities (Ashcroft, Barriere, Cache Creek, Chase, Clearwater, Clinton, Kamloops, Logan Lake, Lytton, Merritt and Sun Peaks) and 10 Electoral Areas - “A” (Wells Gray Country), “B” (Thompson Headwaters), “E” (Bonaparte Plateau), “I” (Blue Sky Country), “J” (Copper Desert Country), “L”, “M”, “N”, “O” (Lower North Thompson) and “P” (Rivers and the Peaks). The TNRD provides over 120 services including planning and building inspection, solid waste management, emergency preparedness and 9-1-1 services, recreation, utilities, television river buoys, transit, tourism, library services and operates a film commission.
